During HDR’s Health Studio, we are revitalizing a former Barnes and Noble space into an outpatient clinic and ambulatory surgery center at Webster Place, a prominent urban corner, analyzing its potential for adaptive reuse and incorporating sustainable design principles for site improvements and facade enhancements.
The program includes a multispecialty clinic on the first floor providing primary care, orthopedics, GI, and immediate care services, while the second floor houses the ambulatory surgery center offering multispecialty surgeries and GI procedures, with provisions for future expansion. Our goal is to enhance patient well-being through sustainable practices, transforming the facility into an advanced orthopedic center that blends wellness principles with artistic elements to meet current and future needs of holistic care.

03 Sports-Health
//rejuvenating Sports as a Recreational Actvitiy to develop an Active Neighbourhood
Academic | Architecture Thesis | Undergraduate.
Location : Mumbai, India.
Instructor : Prof. Sulakshana Bhanushali & Prof. Amey Ghosalkar.
Growing up, sports played an integral role in shaping my character, imparting valuable life lessons, and contributing to my holistic growth. Unfortunately, Mumbai’s rapid urbanization is diminishing its open spaces, fostering a societal shift from leisure and physical activities to a more economically driven lifestyle, resulting in heightened mental stress.
‘The thesis tries to examine the possibility of sports activities as an urban-level intervention that contributes to treating the issue of mental stress from a therapeutic point of view, at a primitive stage of the problem by allowing people to easily access and engage themselves in different sports activities at a neighborhood scale, giving the residents a necessary break from the stressful urban life.’

10 Writing Architecture
//researching and writing to understand architecture through different lens.
Architecture Research | Elective.
Throughout history, writing has been a manifestation of the intellectual endeavors of some of the most brilliant minds across the globe. For architects, the significance of writing cannot be understated. In the realm of architecture, it serves as a vital tool for articulating and delving into innovative ideas. In addition to visual representations through drawings, the use of words and writing plays a pivotal role in conveying the vision of an architect.
As an architect, I have personally found that engaging in architectural writing has been instrumental in my intellectual and creative pursuits. It has become a means through which I can thoroughly research, pose critical inquiries, and engage in reflective thinking. Moreover, it has served as a medium for me to express my thoughts and perspectives, allowing me to delve deeper into the complexities of architectural design and theory. Through the process of writing, I have not only refined my ideas but have also expanded my understanding, contributing to a more nuanced and enriched exploration of the field.
Methaphysics in Architecture
Human beings are the only species on the earth that are mortal. It means that only human beings have the urge to dwell. Building is the only way of dwelling. The only way we interact with the planet is by construction Thus, building becomes a very important matter in our existence and for our experience of the world. This raises the question if we are actually experiencing the world in what we are building. Are we actually interacting with the planet?
Architecture is made of physical materials, but it also produces experiences that go beyond the tangible world. Architecture has the capacity to provoke metaphysical reactions. I personally think of architecture as an envelope and background for life, which goes on, in and around it, a sensitive container for the rhythm of footsteps on the floor, for the concentration of work, for the silence of sleep. When architecture becomes just an envelope and lets all the other components of human existence become more important, then metaphysical aspects appears.
Sensory architecture becomes the roots to achieve metaphysics in architecture as the five senses are the easiest way to stimuli the subconscious mind.
Thus, through the research paper, I intend to say that by using the most basic elements found in the real world, such as materials, nature and light, to try and make people aware of their existence through memories, feelings and thinking. In other words, what we build is architecture that allows the experience of basic components of human existence. Every individual can draw on a sheet of white canvas but it is only the skill and awareness of the architect that can help to make a building.
Computation ArchitectureThe New Normal?
In recent decades, the interrelations between architecture and computation have fostered new design concepts and design methods, which challenge existing design and building processes.Specifically, the increased use of parametric methods and scripting allow for the development of modeling and fabrication techniques, which in turn challenge the role of drawing as one of the main tools for conceptualizing and realizing architecture.
The Research Paper looks at the possibilities of computation designing and raises the question if computation architecture can become the new normal? It also looks at the future scopes and possibilities of the same. The application of computers has influenced architecture in a significant way and the use of computers using certain algorithms is called computational design.Computer architecture involves instruction set architecture design, microarchitecture design, logic design, and implementation.
Computation Architecture can be understood by looking into the pre-computation and the postcomputation era. The post computation era further looks into 2D drafting, 3D modelling, Building Information Modelling (BIM), Design Computation and Machine Learning
Computation architecture totally has the ability to turn abstract imagination into a masterpiece of reality. Computation is the only resource that has consistently dropped in price and vaulted in quantity and quality. As computation accelerates, algorithms will become more sophisticated and pack more intelligence into every action.
