I have experience in product design for a wide range of international companies such as Hallmark, Dreager and Tommy Tippee. Pie & Demand App Order Service for Retail Bakeries Pie and demand is an ordering service that allows consumers to order in-store bakery products within retail stores.

The Solution

The average retail store wastes 40% - 50% of all bakery products. This is caused by a number of issues. Too much products put on display. Stores not having the exact amount of bakery products needed. Bakery products not lasting well as the day goes on. Poor communication between baker and costumer.

In-store bakeries find it very difficult to predict what demand will be for each day’s bakery. Despite attempts using records of past sales, there has been little success in minimizing bakery waste in stores.

Seek to create a service that allows customers or communicate better with in-store bakeries. This service must be available to the public and offers better communication between costumers and bakers.

Service layout After collecting and presenting research, the process was to design a service to provide solutions to the growing problem of the overstock of the bakery. The decision was to design an Application based service that allows customers to order and purchase bakery stock. This will require bakery stock to be baked only when needed and keep waste to a minimum. It will also require to provide allergies

After the service was created, the next stage was to design the app its self. By designing a UI for each stage of the service helped gain a better understanding of each step for the customer.

By using Illustrator to design the icons and graphics, then using Photoshop on the imported images. The next stage was then to import all on Adobe XD where I structured the interaction.

The order arrives at the store via email then is given to the baker.

Once the products are selected the customer then places an order.

It will display all allergies warnings and all product information as well as current deals on the products.

Order Tracker displays how far the user’s order is within the store. It allows the user to see what baker is on shift and the option to send a message about the order.

The allergies page will inform the user to how to identify what products my have allergies.

The app offers the user to purchase a gift card contains a credit to spend on their own account.

The Advertisement Kit

The Order Report

The Order Stickers

Once the store has been registered with Pie and demand it will receive a welcome kit that allows the store to advertise that they offer up the service in the bakery. The kit will include ad posters as well and a stand explaining the service and bar code to can with there smartphone to find app on the app Store or Google Play.

The order report is a collection of orders made by app users the previous day. It displays a number of products that will be needed to be baked for that day. It will also include messaged and special requirements from users to the baker.

Once the products have been baked the baker will then bag them up and the seal with these printed out stickers. They will display customer’s information and name leaving the product ready to collect by the user.

For the business to function it will partner up with a number of UK retail bakeries that will both provide this service. The app will connect with all store that is linked to the service and seek to boost the store’s profit in bakery.

To help fun the project each sale will take a commission of 25% as well as advertisement charges on the stores deals. This well keep the business going as it continues to thrive

As the service is dedicated to improve sales and boost availability and popularity, it is seen to benefit the business partners involved. It also improves that reputation of in-store bakeries and making it more available.

In each major city, nearly 25% are from foreign countries. Nearly 50% are on there own with no family or friends. With a growing demand for foreign food expertises on cooking this good is in desperate need.

People who live in foreign cities are often isolated and struggle to cook food for them selves. They achieve no means of contacting any local chefs that can cook them there native dishes.

To creative and service that allows users to track down local people in foreign cities and seek there expertises on cooking there native dishes. This service must help reunite communities in foreign cities.

Service layout After laying out all the insights and opportunities it seemed there was lot of requirements for this service. As cooking had become more popular its seems now is a great time to produces a service to better connect cooks with wannabe cooks. It also should provide people with the desire to shear recipes to do so.

When designing the layout and interaction the goal was to show peoples dishes and recipes as well as information of the dish and the user behind it.

The app was constructed using Adobe XD and I used Illustrator to design the icons and shapes. I also used Photoshop to improve the images within the application.

The Home Screen presents a range of features the app offers. This includes displaying fellow users new dishes and recipes. It also allows you to search new followers.

When you add new members the app allows you to save dishes and recipes used by other users as well and allowing you to request orders.

The user will put on a range of there own recipes displaying there knowledge of cooking.

In the UK 1/4 people suffer from mental health issues. That’s nearly 2 million people. Many of them struggle to get even the basic help and treatment on the NHS.

With many cuts to public services, getting help is harder than ever. The waiting lists are growing and growing. It takes the average person 35 weeks to seek help and support.

There must be a service that is free and available to help people manage there mental health issues while waiting for professional help from there local Health services.

Pin Point Requirements The main request was the desire to have assessed health services from the comfort of there own home as a lot of people with mental health struggle to leave the home at the early stages of there recovery. Another was to create a more available digital service to offer when patients are waiting for treatment or to see a Doctor.

The app was designed to be as simple to use as possible and focuses on flexibility on information sharing. The app is designed to be clean with simple layouts.

The app was developed by using XD and importing graphics from illustrator.

Every day the user will then make a daily diary about how they feel and rate there day out of ten. It will display there recovery.

The App offers a service dedicated to improving the health and well being of the user. Its main focus is to provide help and information about the user’s journey to recovery of there mental well being. This service is free and available 24\7.

As resources in the NHS are becoming tighter this offers people to self manage there mental and their treatment. In doing so this will save time for doctors and councilors to collect information and work with there patients on resolving the best form of treatment.

As the app takes a social media stance it allows people to become more open about there mental illness and share there journeys of support and recovery. As mental health is on the rise this will crate and involvement where people feel more open about there mental health.

Once the both account’s are set up the next step is to choose what account the user will access.

The Home Screen is designed to display all information about the account. Including current balance and past transactions.

The Augmented Reality features is designed to present animated information when the camera is focused on the bank card or Bank statements.

Both the parent and child can set there own saving goals. This will sent notifications reminding the child what they are saving for as well as display how much they have saved.

Parent Control Centre give the parent user full access to control the child account by subtracting to adding money.

The child saving page is where all saving goals will be set by both users.

The Augmented reality feature is used when focused on the card or bank statement. This will show animations of Mr. Piggy explaining to the child there bank balance as well as there spending habits.

The child will receive a Mr. Piggy Bank debit card. It will be registered to there original bank however they will have the option of customization before they receive it.

At any given time the user will be able to request a physical copy of there bank statement as well as to view it on the app. However , the physical copy will come with augmented reality to explain the spending habits and the current balance.
