HORIZONTAL EXCAVATION

In horizontal excavation, the archeaologist may use plow strips along the surface of the site to expose any object lying near the surface . This method dont have any access to light.

VERTICAL EXCAVATION t is a significant depth of deposits in order to expose the record of a sequence of artifacts. It is followed for large construction areas that are surrounded by existing structures.

HYBRID EXCAVATION This method is a combination of both horizontal and vertical excavation techniques,, and it is used for deep underground excavation of a site.

COFFERDAMS It is a structure that retains water and soil that aloows the enclosed area to be pumped out and excavated dry. If you are thinking that excavated site can be collapsed, then Cofferdams is the best method .

STEP TRENCHING It is a method in the excavation is done in steps. the more you dig, the narrower will be the steps.
