As memories of 2014 fade into the night like the Ghost of Christmas Past, we embark on yet another banner year of hashing with the promise of adventure, camaraderie, and the best of times in 2015.

For those who live in Europe or plan to visit, the coming year offers an intriguing array of HHH events large and small.

Poland will host Eurohash in the UNESCO World Heritage site of historic Krakow.

Angela Merkel may throw open the doors of The Reichstag at German Nash Hash in Berlin. Vikings will pillage and plunder at Interscandi in the ancient capital of Galway in Western Ireland. Alice will follow the white rabbit thru Oxford’s wonderland at UK Nash Hash. These are but a taste of the best in Europe in 2015, but read on for more.

The French colonial outpost of Pondicherry will host Pan Asia Hash 2015 in India.

Scenic Hangzhou will host All China Nash,

and naughty but nice Angeles City will put its best foot forward at Pan Philippines Hash. Cambodia Nash Hash, hosted by the Danger Hash, will run in the outskirts of Phnom Penh. Mekong Indochina Hash will return to Yangon in a new era of political change.

The craft brewery capital of the northwestern USA will host InterAmericas Hash in the Rose City. Watch out for M.I.N.K. this summer in Weeping Water, Nebraska. If the melodic beat of a steel guitar is calling you to the tropical shores of the Caribbean, drop your anchor at the Barbados H3 30th Anniversary. The Betty Ford Rehab Hash turns 29 in Palm Springs this March.

Hash Boy is back for another year of humorous adventures along the hash trail. On the Ice offers unique perspectives and insights from the alcoholic empire. Check out the scores of HHH events from around the world in the HHH Calendar.

russels 2014 is in the past and the European hashing community looks forward to five important events in 2015. The biannual events of Euro Hash, Interscandic and UK Nash Hash lead the way, whilst the annual German Nash Hash is always an efficiently mismanaged event.

The quirky Full Moon Nash Hash, with some of the most fabulous RA’s in the business, rounds off the top 5. Two smaller events off the beaten path are also recommended. If you fancy a European tour, 2015 could be a good year to pick an event and experience some European hashing.

On 15-17 July, Euro Hash will be hosted in the charming Polish town of Krakow, located at the foot of the Carpathian Mountains. Dating back to the 7th century, the historic centre of Krakow boasts a rich variety of architecture, including Renaissance, Gothic and Baroque buildings and has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Gothic Wawal Castle and Cathedral sit prominently on the hill overlooking the magnificent medieval town square, the largest in Europe. Trails will be through the beautiful forests, rivers and rolling hills around Join the Fashionable Red Dress Run in Berlin!

the city. All this, along with the low price of beer, will bring a fabulous atmosphere. The venue for sleeping and partying will be at the University where the tourists will not bother the hashers. Krakow is well connected with direct flights from many European cities on budget airlines like Ryan Air and EasyJet. A Red Dress Run is planned for the Thursday before the event, with the money being raised going to a local charity. The sight of hundreds of hashers in Red Dresses running through the historic centre will be a great warm-up event for Euro Hash

he sport of Hashing started in Kuala Lumpur, Malaya in 1938 when a small group of expats took the children’s game of “Hare and Hound� and altered it slightly to turn it into an amazingly adaptable sport that could be played by anyone and almost anywhere. The jungles and palm plantations around KL at the time were perfect hashing territory, providing a verdant playground for hashers.

Over the years, hashing spread from Kuala Lumpur to nearly every country in the world. Hash kennels are somewhat different from each other as there is no central governing body. There are even bicycle hashes, motorcycle hashes and kayak hashes, to name a few variations on the original running, hiking and walking origins of the Hash House Harriers.

Regional Hashes, including Pan Asia Hash, EuroHash and InterAmericas Hash are now held every other year on the odd number years. These regional events are a time when hashers from around the region and around the world join their friends for a few days of hash trails, eating and drinking and singing with their kindred souls.

s runners we have all encountered “the wall� during a marathon, and at times passing this invisible obstacle has seemed a daunting task. However in China organisers of the Great Wall Marathon have added the real wall, just to make your race day a bit more exciting.
