Remembering Will Johnson 25 Years Later
This September 8 marks 25 years since our beloved friend, teammate, and Christian brother Will Johnson, number 25 on the Crusader Varsity football team, was called to be with the Lord.
Today, Will’s life and legacy remain strongly intertwined with the Crusader experience, and his family and friends have honored his life and compassionate heart through the “Living Will” award and scholarship and “Living Will Ministries.”
In 2012, HCA started a tradition known as the “Will Walk” where, before each home game, players line up and pass by the Will statue to touch the memorial and not only remember his legacy, but to give their all on the field and to commit themselves fully to Christ.
Our yearly verse this year comes from Isaiah 25:1 which states, “O Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you; I will praise your name, for you have done wonderful things, plans formed of old, faithful and sure. ”
May we all go forth, honoring and praising our Heavenly Father, who has and will continue to do wonderful things in our lives.

It's now approaching Eleven O'clock on Monday morning And with the church already an over-flow, The crowd outside is even beginning to grow; The impact of this loss was Really starting to show;
With the church full of people, Our emotions we could not hide; For it was a sight to see, His family in the middle And his teammates on each side;
