Chinese Garden of Friendship The Central Business District is a great starter point for exploring the main sights of Sydney but it can get crowded at times. Set in the busy city adjacent to Chinatown and within the Darling Harbour precinct you can come across the breathtaking Chinese Garden of Friendship. It is a serene garden where you can feel like you are miles away from the buzzing sounds of city life. With a calm atmosphere, impressive gardens, a peaceful pond and monumental statues engraved on the building, you can spend a great load of time here. The gardens are maintained excellently and are beautifully designed and traditional tea overlooking the pond is a highly recommended activity here. Although coffee can be an option too!

The Rocks The Rocks was one of the first ever formed colonies established in 1788 and still home to some of the country’s oldest pubs. Once a notorious slum, these cobblestoned laneways are now a tourist hotspot, housing some fine restaurants, pubs, museums, ancient architectures and a lively street music scene! As you explore the laneways be sure to catch a glimpse of the city’s history embedded in the many buildings such as beneath the YHA. If you go after dark you can even jump in on the ghost walking tours to learn about the nation’s haunted past!
