HARLEM RESTAURANT WEEK

Harlem Restaurant Week (HRW) is an exciting collaboration among the organizers of Harlem's most successful culinary themed events, restaurant crawls and initiatives that promote Harlem based eateries including: Harlem Park to Park, Frederick Douglass Blvd Alliance, Uptown Grand Central, Union Settlement, Bradhurst Merchant’s Association, New York Women’s Chamber of Commerce, Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce and Harlem Week. HRW is sponsored by ILNY, Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce, Harlem Park to Park, Harlem Community Development Corporation and Harlem Congregations for Community Improvement. Harlem Restaurant Week will provide the unique opportunity to globally showcase Harlem’s culinary scene during the period of March 1st through March 15th. Participating restaurants from West, Central, East Harlem will offer prix fixe menus and special offers designed to drive customer traffic to Harlem businesses during the promotional period. A dedicated website has been created to promote participating businesses, menu specials and program partners. (www.harlemrestaurantweek.com) PROGRAM OVERVIEW Harlem Restaurant Week (HRW) will offer NYC/Harlem residents and visitors three (3) exciting experiences: 1.Prix Fixe Menu Specials at Harlem Restaurants March 1st through March 15th HRW participants will offer prix fixe menu specials and/or discount offers at their restaurants. a. Menu specials: ▪ ▪

Prix fixe Lunch and/or Dinner menu including appetizer + entrée +dessert or drink item; or

Special item (appetizer or entrée or dessert/cocktail items)

Best Harlem Eats under $10 Lunch - $25 Dinner - $35

2. Bonus Retail Offers - Under $25 An area on the website will be highlighted to feature ‘Bonus Offers’ provided by Harlem retail, service and culture/art businesses/organizations. a. Items, Services, Ticket Prices, etc available for under $25 at participating retail, service, culture/arts gift stores, online stores, ticket sites, etc.


3. Culinary and Cultural Experiences a.

Pop up culinary and cultural programming will be available at select venues during the promotional period to further enhance the consumer experience

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS A summary of the requirements for participation in the HRW program is provided below. Participating businesses must agree to meet all program requirements and deadlines to ensure inclusion in the program and inclusion in printed and digital marketing assets (website, posters, post cards, press release, social media, etc). Sign Up Sheet: An online registration form has been created for businesses to sign up for Harlem Restaurant Week program. A link to the online form along with printed forms will be distributed to the member businesses of all participating merchant organizations. Businesses must complete the registration form by Monday, January 27th to confirm participation in HRW.

Promotional Period: Participating businesses must agree to offer prix fixe menus and/or special offers for items at their business during the promotional period. ▪ Sunday, March 1st to Sunday, March 15th ▪ Lunch, Dinner

Promotional Materials: Digital and printed marketing materials for the HRW promotion will be forwarded to participating business beginning February 10th through February 14th. Participating businesses must agree to display and distribute the provided materials listed below to assist with promotion for the program. 1. Promotional posters will include a listing of each participating Harlem business/organization. 2. Materials will feature the promo specials and offers 3. Participants must agree to display posters in store front windows, etc. Post cards will be distributed at hostess/POS stands and used as menu inserts at participating restaurants and at POS stations at participating retailers. 4. Please indicate which marketing materials you would like to receive for display in your business.
