A CHALLENGE TO DESIGN AN ARCHITECTURE SCHOOL IN INDIA Campus design in architecture involves strategically arranging buildings, open spaces, and pathways to create a cohesive and functional environment. It considers factors such as spatial relationships, accessibility, and aesthetics to foster a sense of community and facilitate interaction. Efficient circulation, sustainable landscaping, and thoughtful placement of amenities are key considerations in optimizing the overall campus experience. Architectural elements like building orientation and scale contribute to a harmonious and visually appealing campus design. Ultimately, a welldesigned campus enhances the overall learning and social experience for its users.

CONCEPT

The concept of the building is based upon zoning of spaces, different height levels and form is based upon cuboids arranged in grid pattern.

COMPUTER LAB The building has varing heights and level differences for each spaces , say for the studios the height of the walls are 4m which gives a large room for circulation and interaction.

All the other zones are gathered and arranged in a grid pattern maintaining the box shape.

They are extended to a T - shape

The design is based on a zoning concept where the design studio serves as the heart of the building, and the other services and laboratories are located at the periphery. This arrangement allows for a collaborative environment where students and faculty can interact and work together seamlessly. It also helps to keep all the spaces proximity to the students in the design studio.

Breakout spaces are inserted

The design also emphasizes sustainability and integrates green spaces throughout the campus to provide an environment conducive to learning.

Hence there are a lot of breakout spaces and courtyards around the studios.

The campus aims to create a space that fosters creativity and innovation while providing a functional and sustainable environment for students and faculty.

Campus design zoning and master planning involve the systematic organization and layout of a campus to optimize its functionality and aesthetics. These plans take into consideration various factors such as land use, building placement, circulation patterns, open spaces, wind direction, sun path and overall campus vision.

The given site is located in Vadodara, Gujarat. The climatic condition is hot and dry. The surrounding off the site has many typology of building like Institution, Residence, Factories, etc.

Polymer factory is located in the backside of the site cause air pollution. The wind direction is from south - west.

Layouts focus on creating clear circulation paths, minimizing travel distances, and providing easy access to medical facilities. Considerations include flexible spaces for evolving healthcare needs, integration of natural light to enhance healing environments, and compliance with rigorous health and safety standards. CONCEPT & EVOLUTION

The concept of design was derived from the shape of a Butterfly.

This is an architectural design technique as "Bio mimicry".

The form of the hospital building refers specifically to the insects lightness and grace. initial planning included setting on the butterfly form, proceeded on to the allocation of blocks, planning the medical department into the blocks along with the proximity of space.
