Good evening and welcome to the Winter Performances of the Harvey High School Concert Ensembles. Tonight you will hear the Concert Band and the Wind Ensemble. Concert Band is an ensemble that is open for students in grades 9-12, and they will be the opening ensemble for our concert Students are admitted to Wind Ensemble through audition and/or recommendation of the director. The Wind Ensemble typically holds its performances at Morely Music Hall at Lake Erie College, but will occasionally join the Concert Band for their Winter Concert. These groups have put together a challenging and entertaining concert we hope you enjoy.

Dedication Fanfare
As part of our continued work featuring a diverse selection of composers, we open our concert with Dedication Fanfare. This piece was originally commissioned by the Aledo High School Band in Texas and his since become a top recommended selection for Concert Band.
Afternburn Relaunch
Afterburn: Relaunch is a re-imaging of the well-loved Afterburn by Randall D. Standridge. This piece has been rescored, re-voiced, and has added new harmonic and counter-melodic gestures while maintaining the energy and fun of the original.
Music from How to Train Your Dragon
The 2010 movie How to Train Your Dragon has become a film classic and John Powell's masterful soundtrack beautifully captures the dramatic moments and mood of the story. This arrangement features the three main themes from the soundtrack.
Spirit of '44
This original march was written to represent some of the songs that were made by those serving in WWII.

Les Chenuaux Impressions is a four-movement suite that intones the history, beauty, heritage, and grandeur of a land. Chants, explorations, and settling is represented in through the movements.
Sirens
The mysterious and haunting voices of the sea serve as the inspiration for this composition. The exploration and captivation of a captain and his crew are represented through this dramatic work.
