GARDEN AND FRUITS RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. Entries will be accepted Monday, July 8, 2024 beginning at 10:00 a.m. and ending at 3:00 p.m.
2. Sunday entries are discouraged for garden and fruits categories as quality will decrease before judging.
3. Judging will be Monday, July 8, 2024 at 4:30 p.m.
4. Exhibits must be picked up between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., Sunday, July 14, 2024.
5. Exhibitors may enter only one exhibit in any one class.
6. Exhibitors must provide and display produce on Styrofoam or paper plates.
7. Youth category is for ages 14 and under and must register their entries under their name.
8. No soiled vegetables or fruit will be accepted.
10. Fairboard is not responsible for any damage to fair entries. Exhibit at your own risk.
11 Vegetables must be grown in current growing season
12. Best of Show Ribbons will be awarded for Adults and Youth. Additional awards ($25.00 for adults and $15.00 for youth) provided by the Lincoln Trail Area Master Gardeners

Chairpersons: Stitchers Quilt Guild of Elizabethtown
1. Exhibits will be accepted Sunday, July 7, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and/or Monday, July 8, 2024, beginning at 10:00 a.m. and ending at 3:00 p.m. No exhibits will be accepted at any other time.
2. Exhibitor will be limited to one entry in each class, but may exhibit in all classes.
3. If there is more than one article in any exhibit they should be fastened together.
4. If possible, please include the name of the quilt pattern on an index card to be displayed with quilt.
5. When one article is entered in a class, it will be judged on its merit for 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place, or none at all.
6. Items having won first prize in 2023 are not eligible for exhibiting in 2024.
7. Items not winning first place will be limited to entry for two years only.
8. All quilts must be made by the exhibitor, except the antique category.
9. All quilts must be quilted by the exhibitor, except in categories 19, 20, 21, 26, and 27.
10. All exhibitors must be a resident of Hardin County.

1. Exhibitor must use King Arthur flour to make their entry.
2. Must bring the opened bag of flour or submit the UPC label upon item entry.
3. Recipe must include flour, and must be baked.
4. Youth are ages 5 – 14 years old as of Saturday, July 13, 2024. Adults are those age 15 and older.
5. There will be three categories in each age group. One person may submit into one, two, or all three categories if preferred.
6. There will be one youth and adult winner in each category, and then an overall youth and adult first, second, and third place selected.
7. A copy of the recipe (typed or legibly written) must be submitted with the entry.
8. Items will be accepted from 1:00 – 2:00 on Saturday, July 13, 2024
9. Items will be judged at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2024.
10. All entries must be submitted in/on disposable containers for judging.

FLOWER DEPARTMENT RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. Entries will be accepted on Monday, July 8, 2024, beginning at 10:00 a.m. and ending at 3:00 p.m. No exhibits will be accepted at any other time.
2. Judging will be on Monday, July 8, 2024 at 3:30 p.m.
3. Exhibits must be picked up on Sunday, July 14, 2024 between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
4. EXHIBITS IN HORTICULTURE DIVISION must be grown by exhibitor or been in possession of exhibitor for at least three (3) months.
5. Designs or container plants with artificial material [i.e. ribbons, bows, etc.] will not be accepted.
6. Containers for designs and horticulture must be furnished by the exhibitor. Horticulture specimens should be exhibited in clear, colorless glass containers. A plant stem may be used to wedge cut specimens in upright position. No broken containers may be used. There must be NO FOLIAGE UNDER WATER.
7. ALL POTTED PLANTS (NO HANGING PLANTS) must be in pots not exceeding 10” across top and must be underlined to catch water. Containers and foliage of plants must be clean. Leaves may NOT BE WAXED, OILED OR TREATED IN ANY MANNER. Diseased or insect infected plants will not be accepted.
8. No artificial plant material is allowed. Fresh plant material may not be treated in any way. Dried plant material may be painted and/or treated.
9. The Garden Club of Elizabethtown and/or the Fair Board are not responsible for any damage to Fair entries. Exhibit at your own risk.
10. Judges and official personnel only will be allowed in show area during judging.
11. Small Design must fit in an 8”W X 8”H space. Petite Design should fit within a 5”W x 5”H space.
12. Best of Show Ribbons will be awarded for Best of Show for Design and Best of Show for Horticulture.

1. Entries will be accepted Sunday, July 7, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., and/or Monday, July 8, 2024 beginning at 10:00 a.m. and ending at 3:00 p.m. No exhibits will be accepted at any other time.
2. Exhibits must be picked up between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 14, 2024. Remaining items will be taken to the Hardin County Extension Office. Any items not claimed by July 31, 2024 will be donated.
3. Exhibitors may enter only one exhibit in any one class.
4. All entries must be wired and ready to hang or they will not be accepted.
5. Water colors and prints shall be hinged-matted; if not matted and framed.
6. Oil, acrylics and egg tempera paintings may be framed or unframed.
7. No number paintings accepted.
8. There are three sections in Fine Arts: Adults, Professional, and Youth
9. Adults are amateurs who are not paid for their work.
10. Professionals have been trained in and/or are paid for their work in these areas. Exhibitors who enter into professional cannot enter into amateur/adult.
11. Youth shall enter into the grade category based on the school year they just completed.
12. Youth who have already turned 18, but just completed grade 12, may choose whether they enter into the youth - grades 9-12 or adult category.
13. Articles previously winning first premiums cannot be exhibited.
14. Entries must be the work of the exhibitor.
15. Exhibitors are encouraged to use address labels on exhibit entry tags.

1. SeeGeneral Rules and Regulations oftheKentucky StateFair onpages 6 - 13.Anyexhibitor failingto comply with any of the general rules or rules applying to their department will forfeit all premiums won.
2. EntryTags/Admission Tickets will NOT be mailed to the exhibitor. Entry Tags/Admission Tickets will be picked up at entry drop off times OR an appointment can be made with the Entry Department to pick them up beforehand. Entry Tag Appointments must be made at least 24 hours in advance of pick up. Appointments will be accepted starting July 25, 2024. There will be NO appointments available starting one week prior to entry take in day, August 5, 2024.
3. NEW in 2024: Any class that does nothave enough entries to award every placing (3placings) in the General Exhibits will berestructured or removed.
4. AllExhibitors can purchase one (1) discounted packet of eleven (11) admission/parkingtickets for $44.00. Purchases must be madeat timeof entry. Tickets will bedistributed atentrydrop off.
5. Please read complete rules for each department you are planning to enter.
6. Allentries must be submitted through our online entrysystemlocated on our website at www.kystatefair.org. Complete information must be provided. All entries must be submitted by 11:59 pm on July 10 or alate fee will be applied.
7. Entry Fees: The entry fee is $15.00 per exhibitor, which includes all entries made in any East Hall, South Wing, and/or West Hall departments (except Homebrew Beer, Homemade Wine,and Livestock). For example: An exhibitor can enter one (1) item in Fine Arts and two (2) items in Textiles, arid thetotal entry feewill be$15.oo; An additional fee of$1.00 per entrywill becharged for all entries submitted in the digital submissionclasses.TheseareentriesenteredinthePhotography divisions.TherewillbeNO REFUNDS,

9. Entry acceptance times are strictly enforced. Exhibitors must have their entries in the correct department by theending timelisted for their entries to be accepted.

a. Entry tags and exhibitor information should be included in the package. Shipped articles will not be accepted before Tuesday, August l and must arrive nolater than Tuesday, August 8. NOTE: Some departments have specific shipping/packaging requirements; please read department rules carefully. *if an exhibitor is to mail a package, they will have to print their entry tags beforehand.
13.If an article is not picked up on the required date, arrangements must have been made prior to the fair for the entry to be mailed. Entry will be mailed C.O.D. (Cash on Delivery). If not picked up, entry will be properly disposed of by the Kentucky State Fair Board.
14.Management will not beresponsible for anyarticle exhibited, but duecareand diligence willbegiven in handling of entries, and guards will be furnished to give reasonable protection to exhibits at all mes.
15.All entries in all departments will be displayed at the discretion of the Kentucky State Fair management. The KentuckyState Fair Board, initssolediscretion, maydecline theacceptance ofanyentrythatit deems not suitable for display or exhibit at the Kentucky State Fair.
