MARKET INSIGHT Wow, what a crazy market we are in the moment, and it doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon.

With Tassie proven to be one of the safest places in the world to live (Covid-19) there has been an influx of new buyers wanting to secure property in the apple isle.

What I am seeing is, that interstate buyers are wanting to secure a property, rent it out for 12 or so months, sell off their own home in NSW/VIC/QLD and then move into the home Tasmania’s business confidence is at an all-time high and lots of young people who traditionally would move to Melbourne or the Gold Coast are wanting to stay in the state and happy to be a Taswegian.

So with lot’s of interstate buyers, local first home buyers, and not as many people wanting to flee the state, we have this predicament (crazy market) where we have a shortage of properties and an influx of buyers.

MONA is a beautiful feature of the Northern Suburbs with its amazing and quirky art, café and winery with catamaran boat trips to and from the Salamanca wharf.

This is architecturally a beautiful building and an art form within itself.

In this market, you need to have your finance in order, otherwise you will miss out. What this means is, that you need to have pre-approved finance in place from your bank or broker.

If you are not buying through us, make sure you tell the agent that you are pre-approved with finance when submitting your offer.

WARM WINTER PUMPKIN SOUP Ingredients: -2 tbsp olive oil -1 leek, white part only, finely sliced -1/2 tsp ground coriander -1kg peeled pumpkin, diced -1/2 cup (125ml) thin cream

-1L Massel chicken style liquid stock or vegetable liquid stock -1 large potato, peeled, diced -1/2 tsp freshly grated nutmeg -1/2 tsp freshly grated nutmeg -1 garlic clove, crushed -1 onion, finely chopped

Directions: Step 1: Heat oil in a large saucepan over low heat, add onion and leek and cook for 2-3 minutes, until softened but not colored. Add garlic and spices and cook, stirring, for 30 seconds. Add pumpkin, potato and stock and bring to the boil. Turn heat to low, cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Allow to cool slightly, and then blend in batches.

Step 2: Return soup to pan, stir through cream and reheat gently. Season and add a little more nutmeg if desired.
