02 RECEPTION DESK COMMERCIAL BRANDED DESIGN:

he Brief:

o design a new reception desk for 02 mobile phone service provider. Accompanied by its surrounding interior. It is a regional office and located off a main high street, on the edge of the retail and commercial boundaries.

The desk should be simple in design and construction but strong in brand identify. The chosen office is not a main headquarters so does not require the full weight and prestige of such a building, however it does still have to offer the brand as a distinctive commodity and project its image and stature within its market.

Oxygen and is an essential element for people to breath. The thinking behind using this symbol for the brand seemed from the consumer insight that mobile phones are essential for life.

he principles of architecture, from planning to construction to process, underpin Spatial Design. Designs constantly influenced by both existing and new technologies and regulatory issues and I will gain insight into challenging and exciting ways of utilising appropriate development.

he Concept:

he 02 Brand Values it self on being; Environment friendly, energy efficient, making sure that these recyclable materials, reduce their carbon footprint and use greener, smarter technology for a sustainable future. The high gloss materials and colour scheme which is used reflects the nation of water and oxygen of the 02 Brands identity.

02 Desk Design:

Brushed Stainless Steel, Bubbled Glass and Corin (Matt and High Gloss). The desk is equipped with subtle blue.

LED lighting behind the matt textured centre column and the underneath off the High gloss base,creating a subtle diffused and spotlight feature.

The bubbled Glass top shelf creates a striking yet organically textured look. All material are fully sustainable and recyclable.

The Desk is made using multiple levels to accommodate staff sealed and standing and sufficient wheel chair access.

Body of desk will be made fromslenek high glass and matte materials. The material is easily cleaned and maintained.

Area 1 — Main visual point for 02 Reception Desk, Accompanied by an interactive feature using Bubble Tube Water/lighting touching on the oxygen bubbles of the 02 Brand. High gloss animate Corin cladding along the back walls creating sleek lined of the 02 Brand.

Lighting will be included in the water feature, changing through a spectrum of the ’02’ signature Blue shared.

Evening hours — The water feature will be functioning as it does through the day due to the low voltage which is used; creating an ambient glow within the reception area. All other lighting will switched off.

Area 2 — Suspended seating area Interactive seating touching on the oxygen element of the brand seating will be visible from the main entrance. No added lighting is needed for this area as it makes use of the lighting from the water feature and the natural lighting from the office front windows.

Area 3 — Extended seating area Static seating area, wheel chair accommodation and refreshment facilities. Fixed with directional lighting highlight area and benefitting from natural daylight.

The striking water feature is equipped with colour changing LED Energy saving lights making the feature a captivating addition to the reception area illuminated by an array of Blue shades.

The Bubble columns have the ability to captivate onlookers and are used fir therapeutic purposes, this creating a calming and almost Circular Bubble Column hypnotic felt the reception area.

Recyclable glass Balustrades are added to open up the space on the first floor. Allowing staff and visitors to one able to see the whole of the building.

These are fitted with brushed stainless steel handrails. This adding to the modern high gloss feel off the brand.

Glass Balustrades

Oxygen Bubbles have been incorporated into the interior design of the space with smooth sleek hanging chairs. These attach to the ceiling to emphasise the high of the space. Along side the two hanging chairs there are two standard chairs for the less adventurous.

This also accommodates wheelchair Glass Bubbled Seating waiting area and refreshment facilities.

Detail 2: Custom made steel bolt 20 mm diameter holds desk, front component and glass counter top secure. Brushed steel finish top.

Electric cable management 50 mm widecontains lighting, computer telephone cables, either side of the desk. Connecting to under floor power sockets.

Inflate Blue tint Bubbles glass, Before attaching bolt apply rubber protector round each side of the glass.

Energy Saving LED strip lighting (Blue) fixed onto back of the front component. Lights reflect off high gloss corona. All lighting power sockets run under flooring.

Infinity Blue Bubble Glass 40 mm thick Components attached with clear silicone adhesive.

Draw components: MDF 26 mm thick, finished with Hot Depot corona 4 mm thick on front faces and edges. Attached with clear silicone adhesive.

Detail 3: Accrued 2132D0 draw runner, single extensive 35 kg capacity.

Desk base is made from MDF clad with 4 mm brushed stainless steel kick bar. Bolts screw in for a secure foundation for the desk.

All Components All components for the main part of the desk are made from MDF. These components are applied with corona coating on the front, top and side panels where needed. However components where a screw and bolt fixture are added are made from MDF painted white to match the corona to enable the drilling of the set holes. All surfaces are to be glued using clear silicone adhesive.
