This project is to design a community/co-working facility in the inner-city Sydney suburb of Chippendale. The site, located at Myrtle and Pine streets Chippendale, contains an existing three-storey converted warehouse (63 Myrtle St) that must be retained and adapted for re-use and a single storey child-care centre (60 Pine St) that can be demolished.
The form and the space arrangement experiance is inspired by the forest. Open
ground foor of the buildng is simulating the field of forest land. Serices of 12m
tall column is representing the tree of the forest. All room and functional is set
between the column like a tree house fixed into the tree.The window framing
up the view of outside and the view will change with the move of the place you
stand. In the ground floor, you might see the stump. In the first floor,you might
see the truss.In the top floor , you might see the leves of the tree.
