Airplane lane Park adjacent to the site

This area of the former will become a multiuse district in the future , and all the existing thing of the airport will disappear without any traces left. The north pinpoint of the airplane lane. The New Cultural Center’s building should do its best to reconstruct the relationship to recall people to the former reality.

The green land adjacent to the west side of the site is 200 meter long, it is deep enough to produce image of semi-nature.

The convention center The convention center will supply an empty space in the middle on ground level, in order to let the gate-way park go through it visually, and connect the north part as a real continuous green park.

Deepest green The south-west corner of the site aligns with the longest part of the gate-way park, it’s 900 meter’s green volume creates some kind of feel of everlasting and an impossible nature within city.

Intersection The east-south corner of the site is adjacent to the intersection of park avenue, the street connecting east-north part of Taichung and the north ending of continuous edge of residential block, it supply an opportunity to construct a focus to converge all the eye’s view.

When looking at new city plans to be developed, in Eddea we llke to speak about a synergy effect. Synergy is defined as the potential gains that result when systems are coordinated. It’s about getting more from less. For a better environment, for better social conditions and for better use of money, we like to speak of the synergies between city systems.

EDDEA is an international consultancy specialized in Territory, Urban Planning and Architecture, with of f ce in Seville (Spain) and Warsaw (Poland), and with experience in projects in Spain, Poland, Russia, Austria, Bulgaria, Romania, Sweden, Italy and Taiwan. Halfway between a territorial laboratory and a design office, EDDEA accumulate nearly 20 years of professional experience in which we have worked for large public and private corporations, small and medium customers and all types of administrations. For them we have designed large masterplans, detailed urban studies, strategic plans, and many building projects. Since 2007 EDDEA works especially for regional and municipal agencies, all of them involved in improving the future of their cities, developing strategic studies of urban planning. Through the evaluation of territorial , social, and natural assets existing in the field, we formulate sustainable proposals of local development situated in a territorial, social and economical reality of each place. To achieve this, EDDEA has set up a diverse team of Architects, Sociologists, Engineers, Geographers, and Financial and Environment Experts. In total we are 60 people from 5 different nationalities that make up a multicultural team with a clear guidance to territorial consultancy and focused on strategy and problem solving. Our work has been widely recognized in Europe, with regional and national awards, but especially with awards of major international contracts like the award to build the new residential development A101 , in Moscow, Russia.

2.- EDDEA SERVICES 1.2.1 ENVIRONMENTAL APPROACH NEW ARCHITECTURE IN A NEW ENVIRONMENTAL CONTEXT TERRITORIAL DEVELOPMENT IN SEARCH OF ALTERNATIVES Since the 70s and after the f rst oil world crisis, any revisions that might make the numerous studies on global environmental conditions, highlights the exponential growth of interactions between human activities and the nature. We all must agree that the current situation demands a quick and radical way of thinking, particularly among professionals and institutions involved in the work of construction. A responsi ble approach to nature and harnessing the power of the sun as an inexhaustible source of energy must be basic to shaping the future of our buil t environment. In this context, for EDDEA Architects is clear that the role of professional architecture and urban planning, as managers, requ ires a special commitment to the environment and sustainability. It is important to change the model of life, production and distribution spac e, and architects can make through controls and forecasts, through the proper design and distribution of urban structures and buildings on the co nsumption of materials and construction systems, as well as the amount of energy and resources required by the project during its life. The construction and operation of buildings consume the majority of the world’s natural resources and energy, and contribute the bulk of land f ll waste. This paper introduces the concept of sustainable architecture. Recently we are developing several projects focused on sustainable architecture to create environmentally friendly, energyef f cient buildings and developments by effectively managing natural resources. This entails passively and actively harnessing solar energy and usi ng materials which, in their manufacture, application, and disposal, do the least possible damage to the so-called ‘free resources’ water, ground, and air.

HEADQUARTER EDDEA Our main off ce in Seville is designed as an open space focused on facilitating team work. It accommodates 58 workplaces, spread over 7 different areas, where all the employees have a direct relation. It is also equipped whit 6 meeting rooms with Videoconference system, a classroom, kitchen and dining room, library and storage. The building is represented as a large three-storey metallic container with an unde f ned use. Considering its location in the Port area, the building is integrated in a context of construction cranes and industrial containers, coexisting with the railways of an old freight tra in on the boundaries of the plot. A thin Cor-Ten steel skin and a curtain wall on a steel prefab characterize the building. The volume folds into two symmetrical units housing the elevators and restroom facilities, which enclose the main crystal Facad es. Inside the building, work spaces are located in two upper, articulated levels, as well as in the basement f oor which is illuminated by an inner courtyard. Apart from the headquarter in Seville. Eddea is also present in Madrid and Warsaw (Poland).

LABOR INDICATORS Our corporate system ensures synergies among all the employees, combined in a matricial system which has proven successful for companies requiring extensive team work and project-oriented objectives. At Eddea, the organization is comprised of a two-folded structur e: a common, non-technical platform compounded of a Direction Board and staff areas; and a technical structure combining four technical prac tices with six teams oriented towards project development and competitions. The amount of women in Eddea represents the 33% of the total staff.

COURTS BUILDING ANTEQUERA. MÁLAGA. SPAIN FAD Architecture Award 2007 Architects: Ignacio Laguillo / Harald Schönegger • Desing Team: Andrés García / Olaf Schubert (Projects Assistans) • Colaboradores: Roberto Alés (Project Site Manager) / Edaterc, S.L. (Structures) Insur JG, S.L. Location: Calle Pío XII, s/n • Client: Department of Justice and Public Administration Andalusian Regional Goverment •TBA : 4.175 m² • Project / Executed: 2003 / 2006 •Budget: 3.058.607 €

This courthouse is located on the outskirts of the town of Antequera, within a recently built and growing residential area. Considering there were few initial attractions, the dialogue between the site and the architecture was very limited; the only interesting factor being the dimension and proportions. The forced autonomy of the construction led Laguilllo and Schönegger to consider a contained and compact architecture, resulting in a longitudinal building, based on a public platform from which a prism-shaped tower emerges. Without renouncing to a significant capacity, the objective has been to design a building that adequately meets the functional needs of visitors and workers, and is appropriately scaled to its surroundings. A dense structure that boasts a very human interior, the building promotes solid and robust values as well as transparency and clarity, all of them fundamental factors of justice.

Project Manager : José Luis López de Lemus Team: Antonio García, María del Ángel Bada, José Carlos Oliva, Salvador Sánchez, Rubén Silva. Location: Av. de Europa 4. Alicante (España) &OLHQW (OAMI) Project / Execute: 2012 / 7RWDO %XLOW $UHD: 16.600 m2.

Background The present proposal develops the winner proposal for the competition in two parts, Project and Construction, promoted by the European Community Agency named as “Office of Harmonization for the Internal Market (OHIM)”, responsible for the Patents and Brands in the EU Market. The project enlarges its current headquarters in Spain, located in the outskirts of Alicante, including the realisation of a new Office building for 500 hundred employees, a Congress Centre – that contents an auditorium for 450 users- and a new Reception and Welcome Building which puts together the group; the whole urbanization of the new campus is also included. Office Building The choice of the office model is principally based on two requirements: the need to be flexible and allow the adaptation of the Agency’s changeable needs; and, in other hand, to assist the diversity making possible the creation of different areas inside a relation of continuity. For that, it is proposed a building defined in two pieces whose galleries have 12,50m, both related through a garden oriented to the sea. The walkaways which connect the two pieces take a special importance as points of relation and exchange, destined to favor informal meetings between different areas. Reception Building and Congress Centre The Reception and Welcome building is proposed as a backdrop that gathers the volumes which form the current access, creating a new façade –continuous and fragmented at the same time- that receives the visitor in a clear gesture of embracing. With a variable height, it presents its bigger scale in the entrance zone, where a deep projection announces the entry to the building. The Congress Centre is located below-ground, and it has been designed so as to allow natural light get inside the area, an excavated architecture. Urbanization The urbanization has been designed as a large landscape destined to unite the different interventions. The point is to do less evident the limits of the plot manipulating the topography and the masses of vegetation, and allowing the construction of open air rooms –which will shelter diverse programs as a picnic area or the ecopark- within a relation of continuity. The built garden sets the layout of vegetal masses in order to control wind and introduce visual and physic barriers when required, while the chromatic garden combines species with different flowering period to emphasize its mutability, repeating in this way on a certain idea of lightness facing the strong presence of the existing architecture.
