Concept The Ocean, The Sky, The Earth
海洋，天空，地球
Due to its location and ambitious program this Project presents a unique occasion to propose an idea that resolves adequately the welcome to Kinmen. The clarity and simplicity of the solution and the reinforcement of its image in foggy or rainy days, the search for the appropriate scale around its environment ( sea, port, cruisers, city) the timelessness and some kind of monumental character, amongst other things have guided our work to search for that solution.

The Golden Gate
光耀的門
the new meaning of kinmem could be transposed as“The Golden Gate” Our starting point is a big golden gate as a symbol of Arrival & Welcome. A domestic and close symbol but with great hangar scale, a light hanging bridge, emphasizing the space that welcomes and shelters the traveler.
金門新的意涵可轉置為「金色的門」。 我們的開端即以一個大型暖意四溢的門，象徵著到來與歡 迎。一個代表當地且倍感親切的象徵，加上一個大型的類 機棚空腔室內空間，一個明亮的連結四方的吊橋形象，藉 此強調對於旅人的歡迎及庇護。
The scale
規模
Without losing the desired unity of the whole building, the four fronts and the interior will be appropriately scaled and adapted to the environment. To the North, the big hanging cover creates a clear backcloth that is able to deal with the big size of some cruise ships. To the East, the main façade goes backwards so it allows the port park connects adequately with the terminal interior. To the South, the volume is more content and simpler to adapt itself to the urban profile To the West, the roof elevates itself to achieve its maximum height to define the building from the distance. The interior has been conceived as a simple set of stepped platforms, like a grandstand opened to the sea under the cape of the golden skin.
不失整座建築的一體感，建築的四個面以及內部會經適當 比例融入環境中。 面向北端，大型懸掛的開放篷創造一個清晰的超大透通 幕，此處足以容納多艘大型遊輪。 面向東端，主要的門面向後退縮，使得停靠港可充分與碼 頭內側相連接。 面向南端，更為圓融、簡約又富變化的空間，以符合都會 形象。 面向西端，聳立的屋簷達到自身最大高度，得以從遠端即 可觀看到建築輪廓。 內部構想為一組簡單透通的不同高度的平台，像是於金色 斗篷庇護下，朝向大海敞開。

Nikolaus Pevsner & Naum Gabo (siblings and with a great similarity in the understanding and performance of the movement in the space), the forms that we found in the traditional roofs of the simple and exciting buildings of Kinmen, the boat hulls adapt its shape to the navigation rationale, all of them melt in the idea of the great roof of the terminal, of which section varies every step lengthways and transversely, making almost unique each space that shelters. Sustainability The great cover has been projected as an enormous photovoltaic sensor under of which we create a second filter (gold colored) that helps to control the light intensity that filters to the interior. Due to the size of this cover it will collect a great amount of rain which will be canalized and treated for its reuse. A strong gargoyle evacuates the rain water to an elevated reservoir connected to a water conduit that will run to the projected park at the east of the terminal. Around this dorsal spine we will create a forest using the most important species of the island ad of a Botanic Garden, recovering and reforesting and space in the manner that Kinmen has been doing it recently.
Nikolaus Pevsner 與 Naum Gabo（二人為兄弟且於空間 中的活動理解與應用上極為相似），金門純樸傳統建築卻 扣人心弦的屋簷加上符合航運原理的船體形狀，種種特色 分解並融和，造就碼頭大型斗篷的空間型態，每一步，不 論縱向或橫向，都有所不同，使得每一個遮蔽的空間皆顯 得獨一無二。 永續性 在作為光電伏感應器的大型遮蔽篷下方，我們加入第二個 濾光器（呈現金色）以協助控制過濾進入室內的光線強 度。由於遮蔽篷的尺寸，其可收集大量的雨水，引入水道 且重複利用。雨漏 ( 滴水嘴獸 ) 將雨水排出至高起的蓄水 庫，而與蓄水庫連接的導水管會將水引至位於碼頭東邊的 預設公園。於背側似脊隆起地帶附近，我們將以金門近期 實行之方法，運用島上植物園中最為重要的物種創造一個 森林，以重新造林、恢復綠色空間。
