Discover Hanover® - The Importance of Tourism The tourism industry has suffered since March 2020, but has seen an increase over the past few months as businesses and travel destinations begin to welcome back visitors. The Chamber has been publishing Discover Hanover® since 2009. It started as a member directory for the Chamber, but has grown to showcase member and nonmember businesses in the Hanover area. Discover Hanover® Magazine is produced in cooperation with members of the Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce and the community. This magazine serves as an asset to our community and allows visitors to see everything we are proud of and have to offer during their visit. We are planning for the 2022 edition and are looking forward to showcasing businesses in our area who are ready to welcome back visitors and articles about all the things to do in Hanover, PA. We want to show everyone who is ready and able to travel safely that Hanover is the best spot to visit. As the tourism industry begins to return, it

is important to take note of the changes to the industry and how potential visitors view traveling. Day trips and weekend visits are the perfect opportunity to draw people into Hanover without having to plan long and expensive trips with plans that may change last minute. Hanover is nestled in both York and Adams Counties and is conveniently located within minutes of York, Gettysburg and Baltimore, Maryland. The Hanover area continues to grow in its number of residents and new homes built, all while continuing to maintain its natural beauty through preservation efforts on behalf of our municipalities and various non-profit organizations. Our 2021 edition of Discover Hanover® can be viewed at www.discoverhanoverpa.org or on Discover Hanover’s Facebook page. If you are interested in advertising in Discover Hanover®, please reach out to Caitlin Johnson, Marketing & PR Manager at cjohnson@hanoverchamber.com.

AERO ENERGY MAKES DONATION TO OVER 250 LOCAL CHURCHES

Aero Energy today announced that it has made a total donation of $18,511.36 to churches enrolled in it’s HOW program marking a close to the 2020 - 2021 heating season. This represents the largest payout made in the eight years of the program’s existence. How it Works- Aero Energy donates $0.04 for each gallon of propane and heating oil used by customers enrolled in the program to their respective churches on an annual basis. These customers used 462,784 combined gallons this past year which resulted in donations to over 250 churches. There is no limit for the number of congregation members who can enroll in the program, which allowed several churches to receive donations of over $500. “In the midst of the global pandemic, it is no secret that churches have experienced challenging times. We are proud to continue supporting them with our 8th annual payout to the House of Worship Program. We believe that with community outreach and engagement we’ll be able to grow this program to even greater heights next heating season,” said CEO, Wes Warehime. Churches as well as churchgoers are able to easily enroll in the program with the creation of a single propane or heating oil account. With over 600 customers already enrolled, opportunity is ripe for the expansion of the HOW program across Pennsylvania and Maryland congregations. The firm named Dissinger a partner in 2019, and he has been the chair of the firm’s Hospitality Industry Group since 2018. “The members of the group have extensive experience in all aspects of real estate law throughout our entire footprint,” Dissinger said. “It will be a pleasure to work closer with them and to continue on the path that Maria has mapped out for us.” Elliott said that Dissinger’s experience, knowledge of the regional real estate market and his dedication to his clients all make him an excellent choice to succeed her. “Derek is a great choice to take over the role of practice group chair,” Elliot said. “Since he’s come to the firm, he’s showed nothing but a passion for the job and for helping clients achieve their real estate goals.” Dissinger is also a member of the firm’s Finance & Creditors’ Right Practice Group and the COVID-19 Response Service Team.
