About Me

My love for design began at a young age as I was often found drawing houses and constantly re-designing rooms in my home. Later, I had the privilege of being a part of my father’s remodeling business, in which he remodeled homes to ADA compliance for those who had become disabled due to accident or illness. Seeing the impact that design can have on someone’s life is so meaningful and creating environments that benefit people is the true purpose of design to me. I also had the honor of being part of the custom design of a home that our family company, Victory Worth Family Homes, designed and built from the ground up. There I assisted with the design of the custom floor plan and chose finishes, materials, and fixtures. In 2020, I started my own business, Hannah Mary Design, in which I sell prints of my hand-painted, original watercolor art and greeting cards at in-person market events, at my store boutique location within the Painted Tree in Frisco, Texas, and online. Along with my artistic and design interests that began in childhood, these experiences are what have added to my passion in the field of Interior Design.
Interior Design has always fascinated me because of its ability to blend the practical and precise aspect of architecture and structures with creativity and artistic interpretation. Good design evokes a sense of familiarity and feels as if it was always there in a timeless way. To me, design matters because I have the ability as a designer to affect someone through the spaces that they enter and create an atmosphere that brings people joy amidst their daily lives.

CREATIVE STAY BOUTIQUE HOTELOBJECTIVE
A music professional and hotel entrepreneur is planning to open a new venue in Austin, Texas. The owner has requested a boutique hotel with an appealing lobby and two guest room variations. The owner desires for the hotel to be branded and inspired by the Indie music genre.

DESIGN CONCEPT
Creative Stay Boutique Hotel emulates feelings of originality and free spirit through the use of eclectic and vintage inspired items along with the mixing of textures and patterns. Indie music artists are independent and desire to produce music that is against the mainstream. Creative Stay will reflect these ideals through spaces that feel unique and visually diverse.

TACOS IN TORONTO RESTAURANT
OBJECTIVE
A client is desiring a design and brand creation for a new, fast-casual, street taco restaurant located in Toronto, Canada. The restaurant is to include an order counter and both indoor and outdoor seating spaces. Design that visually connects the food served and the location of the restaurant is desirable.
DESIGN CONCEPT
Tacos in Toronto provides a fun, colorful, and festive dining environment for the entire family to enjoy. While exploring colors of both Mexico and Canada, I derived inspiration from the bright colors of citrus fruits that are seen in street tacos as well as red from the Canada flag. Bright colors mixed with large, modern windows and an open layout radiate the lively and upbeat dining environment.

HENDRICK CANCER CENTER
OBJECTIVE
The hospital board and CEO of Hendrick Cancer Center located in Abilene, Texas, are requesting a complete renovation of the two floor, 35,982 square foot facility. The project must include both inpatient and outpatient spaces including infusion, examination, overnight hospital stay rooms, oncology offices, medical health spa, counseling center, meditation space, and patient and family spaces.
DESIGN CONCEPT
The space at Hendrick Cancer Center creates an environment that promotes healing and peace and allows the patients to feel comfortable and find a place of respite in their daily lives. My design is inspired by the olive tree which is known to represent peace and healing and is resilient to drought and decay. By utilizing earth toned colors and curving forms that emulate the trunk of an olive tree in my design, I desired to create spaces that relieved stress and helped patients to withstand and recover. Throughout the process, I utilized patient interviews and design research and trends to dictate my design.

WETHINK OFFICE
OBJECTIVE
WeThink, a consulting company that names, brands, and invests in products for success, is leasing a new office space in Los Angeles, California. The office space for lease occupies one-fourth of the floor. Spaces for waiting, conferences, collaboration, executive offices, and employees are necessary.

DESIGN CONCEPT
Since WeThink is a branding company, first impressions are important for their work and the way they portray their own company. My design concept for the space was inspired by the idea of being “sharply dressed”, which reflects the formality of creating a good first impression. Casual elegance is seen throughout the spaces by the use of gold accents, glass walls, and velvet furnishings for select materials.

OVERVIEW
As a part of this 2,535 square foot speculative home build, I assisted with designing the original floor plan and layout of the home. In addition, I selected many of the materials including exterior siding and trim colors, brick, doors, and lighting, and interior finishes of kitchen cabinets, paint colors, flooring, and bathroom finishes. For selections, I visited many stone warehouses and tile and flooring shops. During the build process, I frequently visited the construction progress and assisted in conveying ideas and decisions to contractors.

DESIGN CONCEPT
The design for the home embodied a modern farmhouse feel with neutral, classic finishes that would appeal to many. Neutral finishes included rustic oak flooring, cream cabinetry, and quartz countertops. Barn doors were added between the kitchen and dining room to create optional privacy if needed within the space.
