Hello & welcome

This is my portfolio of works - I hope you enjoy flicking through! I'm Hannah and I am an Interior Designer based in West London. Originally from The Cotswolds, I am a born Country Bumpkin who relishes in replicating those feelings with walks through Richmond Park and leafy Chiswick, often followed by a cosy pub lunch, who doesn't?

I take great pleasure in immersing myself in new cultures and experiences, and inevitably, this exposure shapes who I am as a person and a designer.

Believing that our homes and spaces influence our wellbeing, I am drawn to natural materials, simple design and how function can be beautiful and improve our day to day lives. Interiors should never just be a display - our spaces should be designed around how we live every day, evolving with us, creating connection and sparking moments of joy.

I enjoy a lot of things - sunrise runs, photography, searching for the gooiest chocolate brownies and sunset chasing. Though I can't say I like cold baked beans or wearing a rucksack on the tube.

Exhibition Design

‘Out of the Blue’50 Years of Designers Guild

“Celebrating 50 years of Designers Guild. ‘Out of the Blue’ at The Fashion and Textile Museum was a way to view the unique and creative approach of Tricia Guild focusing on her inspirations, her intuitive design methodology and techniques, processes, and use of materials”.

Full creative department involvement to execute the exhibition. My input was across multiple disciplines, including initial sketches, furniture planning, construction and installation.

Interior Styling

Lead the team to style a photoshoot to generate marketing material for use online across multiple homestay platforms. The property was staged to maximise our reach & to promote our services.

This was a collaborative effort across multiple departments, including sales & marketing, design & pricing.

The Pheonix

Inspired by organic forms and movement, The Phoenix draws on the inspirations of natural materials, tree like canopies and soft curves to offer local users a space to relax and reconnect to nature.

This also ties in with the Great Fire of London which affected much of the immediate sites to Monument St. Although Monument is a historical attraction that draws in many tourists and passing business workers, interview feedback and site analysis determined that this was not a destination in which people could or wanted to spend any length of time at. Drawing on the historical context of the area influenced the design as well as being designed for the site specifically.

The rich history of the site has also influenced the design of Phoenix, with the plan view being inspired by the nature element of fire. Being visible from the Monument, during the day and at night when it is lit up through Phosphorescent paint, it becomes a destination for both time frames.

London Design Festival

For London Design Festival 2018, at Home with Hostmaker invited the travel-curious and style-conscious to attend their 'Open House' pop up event in Clerkenwell at The Roundhouse. Based on three of their own unique traveller archetypes, people were invited to journey through these uniquely different spaces - The Botanist, The Bold and The Artisan.

1ST DESIGN CONCEPT

One of the these archetypes is The Botanist. They love to bring the outdoors in and surround themselves with nature. The botanist seeks authentic and grounding experiences. Their favorite room would be filled with botanical elements, mix of materials and natural shades of colour. This was the inspiration behind the main design space within the Open House.
