Breif Breakdown
Submission list: • Sketchbook • Schemetic design ( sketchup file & revit file) • Technical Pack A2/A3 • Animation 3 mins • Oral Presentation
• Designing our own pavillion: a flexible open space that is designed for people to spend time in it. The pavilion is consisted of 4 shipping containers, the size of 1 x shipping container is 6.6m length x 2.6m height x 2.44m

Break down

These are some of the main ispirations of pavilians that were created recently and each have a special purpose. Each pavilian was created in a different country dispalying a certain concept. There is a certain discribsion for each space breaking down the function and location of each of the pavilia with small insights that are facinating about these pavilians.

Pavilian Research

A decorative designed building creapurposes like meeting points, a seating, cafes, lectures, events, sports, relaxation, and workted as a shelter in a park or a large garden that has all different kinds of .

History

Pavilions have considered to be tents, domed buildings, garden houses, summerhouses, and temples. It is a pavilion because it could be a movable or a temporary structure, and it was made to accommodate socializing and dancing in the early 19th century. The concept became a trend after multiple different types of structures built throughout several countries to the extent of reaching other contents.

Materials

At first people used to build it with wood and rusty materials and pavilions were not as stable and most of them had climbing trees with a simple structural design. Designers also maintained the dome types of designs to present the unity. As the years passed people started using more advanced modern types of materials like cloth, iron, metal and more. There is no restriction for the purpose of a pavilion or its design, therefore; designers started going wild and ideas were implemented everywhere with different resolutions.

Gallery of Zern Pavilion / Vlad Kissel - 29

created by Vlad Kissel, to relate to nature, the geometry of the structure was created to make the structure looked like it belonged to nature. The grand opening front the top, centered by the oculus symbolizes the living plants in the artist’s perspective. the materials used to build this pavilion were mainly wood and minimal metal to connect the wooden parts together and a couple of oculi for decoration.

José Selgas and Lucía

Cano Serpentine Pavilion

A pavilion structure created by Jose Selgas and Lucia Cano ranking the top most 10 exhibitions visited in the world. According to Jose and Lucia, this structure will be used for multi-purposes social space. Famous architects state their use of colors and bold material to produce such a masterpiece indicates their love for nature and ensures the next pavilion structure build will be even more marvelous.

The design was created as an inspiration from snakes and their internal structure which shows in the metal lines and the cover is the skin of the snake. The deformation of the structure shows the flexibility of the snake as it slips through.

Birch Pavilion built by students in Vermont forest, Norwich

The story behind this pavilion is quite thrilling… Boston firm Moskow Linn leads an intensive architect’s workshop where students get a hand on experience by designing and constructing a concept that engages with the landscape and nature. In 2011, five students gathered in Vermont, Norwich, where Moskow Linn lives and built a pavilion chicken coop with a gabled roof which mimicked the neighboring barn. The past summer Linn returned with his partner Robert Linn with another group of students to create a space to enjoy nature. The had a specific target where they wanted the design to be directed toward Mt. Ascutney, 25 miles away in Windsor, Vermont so they chopped off 34 timber trees and measured them 9 feet to represent the path to Ascutney.

FEEDBACK FEEDBACK FEEDBACK FEEDBACK FEEDBACK FEEDBACK FEEDBACK FEEDBACK FEEDBACK FEEDBACK FEEDBACK FEEDBACK FEEDBACK FEEDBACK FEEDBACK FEEDBACK FEEDBACK FEEDBACK FEEDBACK • Strong story • Presentable Idea • Has to elaborate on the ending of it • Satisfying presentation skills • Think of how will the containers reflect the story
Pin-up sumbission

This is the updated version of the model after the feedback emphasizing to reflect the idea more in the model and keep the journey going. There had to be a checkpoint by the end of the model ,therefore; I added a cafe designed in a container as well. Each of the containers explains a different part of the journey. The first one reflects the silence stage; athletes who want to talk ,but are let down by others. The second stage; knowing that there are other people going through the same journey. The third stage; is experiencing the struggle and engaging through the journey. The final stage; reflects through handing mirrors and acknowledges the achievement or speaking up.

Render shots:

These are some of the render shots that were taken in lumion for the containers to emphasize the idea and how it would look in real life. I tried to take as man shots from the interior rather than the exterior because most of the concept relates to the exterior too. The interior shows more of the experince and listening to the story of each person going through the journey of mental health and sports. While, the exterior illustrates the upgrade in the journey and the levels they go through.

Thesee rendered shot are not as perfect and I wnted to put so much more time to edit them ,but I couldnt have time therefore I am not really satistifed with the output of it. Lumion taught me one of the most important aspects in interior architecture which is learning how to show the better side of the project and how to have a good eye for the achitecture and illustrate it though a camera.
