The story behind Handmade LATAM Sustaining cultural heritage has been my passion for over six years by working with artisanal communities from Ecuador.

Through this artisanal catalog, we hope to bring you closer to ten signature indigenous communities from Ecuador, who are looking to start a collaborative design-journey with international buyers.

Ecuador is home to about 18 different indigenous nationalities, each with its own unique traditions and artisanal culture. Each handmade piece in this catalog is a manifestation of past and present that honors every artisan and their generations.

In a time when travel restrictions and global health emergencies have influenced local economies, we are focused on preparing artisanal communities with tools and services that can help them stay connected to international buyers. This artisanal catalog is the result of a series of preparatory workshops where artisanal leaders strengthened their cost structures, revisited their production capacity and identified key ready-to-export pieces to represent their ancestral heritage.

It also serves as a reference according to the listed products and it can vary according to dimensions or any tailor-made design that the designer or buyer needs.

Handmade LATAM provides tailor-made consultancy services to international designers, buyers and boutiques who seek the opportunity to work with remote artisan communities in Ecuador and support handmade and ethical practices . We are looking to generate a sustainable income for the future generations of artisanal leaders by helping them in the process of getting connected with buyers.
