Edison Salazar arrived in New York City in 1971 after spending his early childhood in Quito, the capital city of Ecuador, before moving to Irvington, NJ. His father was a jeweler and diamond setter by trade and in order to inspire inventiveness and adventure in his sons he named one Edison after the famous inventor. In 1980 Edison decided to enlist in the Marine Corps where he served the country for 4 years after basic training at the famous Paris Island South Carolina base. Upon completion of the Marine Corps tour of duty, Edison enlisted his talents, discipline and determination into the real estate business, obtaining his real estate license in 1984 and has been busy showing people how to invest in the American Dream ever since. Over his career he has been a Century 21 franchise owner for 20 years, an EXIT franchise owner for 3 years and has recently utilized the family name to brand his newest venture as Salazar Realty Group. Ed has developed additional depth and a broad understanding of the industry through participation in mortgage banking, insurance, titles, property management and REO bank owned properties and even tax preparation.
