At Hampton, learning extends far beyond the classroom and academic success. Our exciting co-curricular programme is at the heart of School life and offers pupils countless opportunities to explore their passions, try something new and develop skills that last a lifetime.
With over 130 clubs, societies and activities to choose from, there is something to inspire everyone. Whether you’re in the First Year or the Upper Sixth, you will be encouraged to get involved, have fun and make friends along the way.
These activities not only build confidence and spark creativity, but they also nurture essential life skills such as leadership, teamwork and resilience. We firmly believe that Hamptonians achieve outstanding academic success because of these wider experiences, not in spite of them.
Most clubs run during our generous 85 minute lunch break allowing all pupils to take part and still be home at a reasonable time.
This booklet provides a snapshot of life at Hampton beyond the classroom. It is not an exhaustive list, as new clubs are introduced all the time, often inspired or led by the boys themselves. A full list is shared with pupils each term, and further details are available on our website: www.hamptonschool.org.uk
One of the UK’s top sporting schools, Hampton combines exceptional standards with outstanding provision. Many Hamptonians compete at county and national level across a wide range of sports. With 16 different sports on offer, our aim is simple - to help every pupil discover the sport they love.

The programme is extensive and full of variety.
Some pupils work with younger children in primary schools or support trips and activities for children with learning difficulties. Others help with Lion Learning, our Saturday School for local gifted and talented pupils or take part in the joint Hampton/ LEH peer-mentoring scheme - working with pupils at Teddington School to help improve their grades and confidence in Maths and English. sponsored walks, we raise around £20,000 each year for local, national and international charities including Shooting Stars Chase, Mary’s Meals and The Teenage Cancer Trust.
Hamptonians also make a difference further afield.
Every other year, a group of older pupils visit the Hampton Safe Haven in Malawi, where they teach local children, support life-skills programmes and get involved in practical tasks such as building, painting, ground clearance and repairing equipment.
