Fantastic four will see the light Last year, global lighting manufacturer MEGAMAN, launched two new energy-efficient LED fixture ranges: Performa and Essentials. Designed to provide both an everyday, economy version and a more advanced, functionality-rich alternative, the ranges include an energy-efficient solution for any application. As we approach Megaman’s 30th anniversary of innovation and manufacturing excellence next year, let’s take a look at some of the most popular products from across the two ranges: TEGO Slim – Essentials range Weighing just 160 g, this integrated LED downlight provides a cost-effective compact solution for limited ceiling depth applications, with smooth performance triac dimming (U-dim). Tested to provide fire protection for 30, 60, 90-minute ceiling constructions, TEGO Slim is also available with a thermal insulation guard for use with thermal ceilings. Installation is tool-less due to loop in/loop out functionality and a flexible cord between the luminaire and terminal block. Both matt white and brushed nickel finishes are available in excellent value for money contractor ten packs, backed by a three-year warranty.
KEO – Essentials range With a high efficacy of 134lm/W, KEO provides the ideal replacement for traditional high bay units. Made from durable die-cast aluminium with anti-corrosion coating, it’s easy to install thanks to a single hook mounting design. KEO also has a fixed 110° beam angle, built-in surge protection, IP65 water and IK08 vandal resistance. An optional ‘twist and lock’ microwave motion sensor can be attached for applications where energy efficiency is key. 100, 150 and 200 W options are available, all backed by a three-year warranty.
RENZO – Performa range The RENZO bulkhead provides electrical contractors with a low maintenance replacement for traditional surface mounted fluorescent luminaires, suitable for both walls and ceilings in a range of domestic and commercial applications. The range includes an 11 W, 10-15 W and 10-22 W option, each producing up to 2000 lumens
and featuring both dual output and colour change technology (CCT) – to give colour temperatures of 3000K and 4000K. Push connectors make for an easy and efficient installation and its IP44 rating means RENZO can be used in damp and humid conditions. The rounded design utilises an opal diffuser to deliver excellent uniform light distribution, while motion sensor and emergency versions are available – all backed by a five-year warranty. BERTO – Essentials range Another popular product from the Megaman range is the BERTO Backlit TPa LED panel – available in both square and rectangular models. Perfect for shallow ceiling voids in shopping centres, hospitals and other commercial environments, BERTO offers a flicker-free, low glare 110° beam angle and up to 100lm/W efficacy. In terms of installation, connection is again easy thanks to a push-fit connector, while both surface and suspension mounting kits are available, as well as an easy-to-fit emergency kit. Essentials BERTO has also recently been upgraded and is now UGR19 rated – making it ideal for classrooms and workplaces. It is backed by a five-year warranty on both LED panel and driver.
