Kellaway Park, Clodgey Lane, Helston, Cornwall TR13 8PJ
As hard as we tried we just couldn’t quite get over the line to safely host Street last Saturday. The fixture has now been rearranged for Good Friday in favour of hosting Mousehole. A revised date for hosting our locals rivals has yet to be confirmed given our continued involvement is this seasons Cornwall Senior Cup.
With some drier weather having now returned, whilst having also seized the opportunity to cut the pitch on Thursday afternoon, albeit with two garden lawnmowers, fingers crossed we are welcoming the players, officials and supporters of Keynsham Town FC to Kellaway Park this afternoon. An extended welcome as always goes to our match officials Ryan Dennis, Paul Barker and Guy Pallett.
Having narrowly beaten Keynsham away last season we hosted the reverse fixture in September, and for those of you that cannot remember, having led three one at halftime, the match ended five all. Like in both fixtures last season I’m sure this afternoon’s match will be a tight affair, although I can give no guarantees of another ten goal thriller. Although we still await to find out who we will host in the last sixteen of this seasons Les Phillips League Cup, Falmouth Town or Barnstaple, this week confirmed the remaining semi-finalists for this seasons Cornwall Senior Cup. Along with ourselves Liskeard Athletic, Saltash United and Wendron United will all be looking to make it through to this years Easter Monday showcase. Expectations are the semi-final draw will be made this forthcoming week, so be sure to follow our social media feeds for updates. This years semi-finals are to played on Tuesday 14th and Wednesday 15th March. Venues yet to be confirmed.
All being well we play at home again next Saturday verses Ashton & Backwell United. Until then I wish you all an enjoyable afternoon, and again thank you for your attendance and support
