Last week, two amazing families in our EMC connection said a temporary farewell to incredible wives, mothers, and grandmothers. Both celebrations of life were intimate, unique, and honoring of these women who led their homes well, leaving a legacy of Christian faith and service. I wanted to share adapted selections of their beautiful obituaries.

Carolyn Ruth Doll Brouillette was peacefully ushered into the arms of surrounded by her beloved family on February 12, 2025. Carolyn n Chestertown, Maryland, to the late Edith and Carl Doll. She lived there until she went to Vennard College where she met the love of her life, Kevin Dale Brouillette. On May 14th, 1988, they entered into a holy marriage covenant that would last a lifetime. For 37 years they loved each other dearly, marvelously modeling the call of a Christ-centered marriage. Kevin II, Hannah Ellis, Jacob, and Sarah Cottrell, were their treasures, as well as their inlaws, and their two beautiful , Natalie and Cade. Carolyn loved them all beyond what one could ever imagine possible. Her greatest concern was that her family join her in heaven.

woman of consummate virtue, who loved Jesus deeply and centered her life upon Him. Her whole life was about making a Christ-filled everyone she could. Anyone who had the honor to know her received one of the greatest blessings this world had to offer.

Nancy Susan Cain passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on February 10, 2025. Nancy was a passionate and skilled educator, serving 40+ years in the Monongalia County education system. Nancy believed in the transformative power of learning, adhering to the philosophy that education extended far beyond the confines of a classroom. She demonstrated her strong faith with action, always eager to lend a hand and share her wisdom. Nancy was a poet, a patriot, and a keen historian who meticulously kept photos and scrapbooks, chronicling family stories with love and care.

Nancy's greatest source of pride and happiness was her cherished family. She was the loving wife of Gary Cain, with whom she celebrated 59 years of marriage. With Gary, her children, Keely Woodford, Kevin Cain, Kerry Bowers, and Nick Asemani were their deepest treasures, along with adorable inlaws, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. Her faith in Christ was the cornerstone of her existence, providing her with the strength and compassion that defined her remarkable life. Nancy Susan Cain was, in every sense, a faith-filled, loving, and wise person. Her departure leaves behind a legacy of kindness, education, and family unity that will be felt for generations to come.
