Meet the staff

Jenny Cooper, Executive Manager at Clarence Estate in Albany, WA.

Jenny Cooper has been working in the aged care industry since she was 15 years old and qualified as a Registered Nurse in England in 2006.

“My Mum and grandmother were both nurses and their love of the profession obviously rubbed off on me,” she says.

After moving to Australia in 2012, she joined Hall & Prior in May 2018 at Clarence Estate in Albany, WA and eventually became Executive Manager a few years later. It’s a role which she particularly enjoys in terms of the interactions she has with residents, their families and staff on a daily basis.

“We are very blessed at Clarence to have the most amazing team, and their dedication and care shows me each day why I continue to work in this industry,” she says.

“The aged care industry is a challenging environment to work in, as is any environment that involves people, as everyone’s needs and expectations are varied.”

For those contemplating a career in aged care, Jenny has some advice to offer.

“You have to be a certain type of person to be successful in a career in aged care,” she says.

“The perception of aged care nursing is often far from the reality. It is a very rewarding career choice, and I would encourage anyone with the desire to enter the industry to do so.”

Hall & Prior offer excellent career opportunities for aged care professionals, just like Jennyand invest significant resources in training the next generation of leaders who will follow her into rich, rewarding roles at their homes in WA and NSW. Contact careers@hallprior.com.au
