What made you want to start the brand TreLuxe?

I always love learning stories behind brands and what they stand for. Brands that have great messages such as being yourself, loving yourself the way you were created and feeling confident. That is what the brand Tre Luxe is all about. Tre Luxe is a hair care brand that offers a line of products that address common problems faced by women with unique hair types. Their mission is to empower women’s approach to life with confidence and to embrace ones natural beauty from within. I love everything that this brand stands for. I was very excited when I got the opportunity to ask Cortney Sigilai, co-founder of the brand questions the brand’s mission as well as starting the brand with her husband.

There were mainly two driving factors; It started with the desire to provide my curls with better care than I could use anything that was being offered in the market at the time. I had been natural (wearing hairstyles without chemical processing) for approaching 10 years, and had tried tons of different options to give my hair the moisture, suppleness, and definition it needed. Still, I simply could not find a full line of products that met these standards and was also formulated with mostly natural ingredients. I eventually began experimenting with mixing and altering products using natural oils, extracts, and natural ingredient blends that I had researched myself. I started getting more and more compliments and questions about my hair care regimen as “going natural” became more popular, and the sincere appreciation I got upon providing my styling tips and recommendations to other women was really amazing. As I began to realize that there were many other women like myself, still looking for products that worked better than what was available in the market, and also contained high quality natural ingredients; my husband and I began to discuss this as a business idea. The second driving factor behind TréLuxe, which really caused us to start taking action, was the desire to empower women and give back in an impactful way, which we felt we could do through product sales.
