The voting for the 5th annual Baptist Health Paducah Pink Glove Dance ends at midnight on September 23. Baptist Health Paducah has submitted their video incorporating Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off” to help raise awareness for breast cancer, and they are in a tight race for the 1st place spot.

Catherine Sivills, Public Relations Director of Baptist Health, said the money from the Pink Glove Dance competition would help stimulate the continual use of new technology including 3D Mammography, which is used for detecting breast cancer.

The Pink Glove Dance competition began five years ago when 200 people at the Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, Ore., danced to the catchy tune “Down” by Jay Sean.

Since the video went viral in 2009, Medline sponsored a video competition open to anyone who wanted to make their own Pink Glove Dance video. Nearly 200,000 people have danced in the competition. Medline has been flooded with calls, emails and letters expressing the joy the videos bring to people and communities around the world. Some walk. Some run. Medline has been dancing for five years.
