PORTFOLIO 2025 HAILEY ZOBRIST

My love for design started at a young age. Growing up I was constantly surrounded by family members that appreciated the beauty of design and pushed me to be innovative and explore my creativity. This upbringing shaped my passion for landscape architecture—a field where I can blend creativity, sustainability, and innovation.
I am fascinated by how thoughtful design transforms spaces into meaningful experiences, connecting people to nature and each other. My philosophy centers on creating environments that harmonize with natural ecosystems while inspiring connection and well-being. Through landscape architecture, I strive to reimagine spaces that are as functional as they are beautiful.
Joining The University of Georgia’s Landscape Architecture program has deepened my passion for the field through its blend of design theory, environmental stewardship, and hands-on learning. Collaborative studio projects and innovative coursework have sharpened my ability to create functional, sustainable spaces that connect people to their surroundings. This experience has further fueled my commitment to the transformative power of landscape architecture.

Design Project
Year
Spring 2024
Description
Located just outside of downtown Athens, ga, this overgrown lot was transformed in a community of single-family residential homes. The homes were designed with the intention to be private, have sustainable features, and connect to the exsisting firefly trail that runs throughout Athens.
The design for this single-family residential home was inspired by the Firefly Trail that connects the site around Athens, Ga. The trail was a rails to trail project. The Inspiration stems primarily from the curving nature of the rails and the materials chosen mimic that of a railroad.
