This project was a collaborative endeavor involving myself, along with my teammates Isabella Cicero and Ariel Tuia. Our task was to design an extension for Arizona State University’s design school, specifically for an interdisciplinary studio. Our designated site was the Abbey, formerly known as the First Baptist Church. Gross area 47,837 SQ.FT
Given the historical significance of the Abbey, we opted for an adaptive reuse approach to preservation. This involved carefully re-purposing the existing structure to accommodate the needs of the design school while respecting and celebrating its historical character.
Our design concept, aptly named “Convergence,” serves as the guiding principle for our project. We envision a space where Arizona State University students, design professionals, the essence of the Arizona desert, and the vibrant energy of downtown Phoenix converge harmoniously within this building. Furthermore, we have seamlessly integrated the historic elements of the structure with the contemporary updates necessary to meet the demands of the design school. This blending of the old and the new not only preserves the building’s heritage but also enhances its functionality for present and future generations of creatives.
Programs used: Revit, Enscape, Photoshop, Excle, and Canva
This project was for Steelcase NEXT competition and took place during fall semester 2023 of my senior year. My project was nominated by my professors to be submitted to the national competition.
The project was to design a progressive global architecture and interior design firm that was based in Los Angeles, California and opening a new design firm in Dallas Texas. The scope of the project was to plan and design NEXTS new Dallas office, measuring 11,00 SF with a Mezzanine 4,000 SF.
Design Concept
NEXT Designs and the Dallas - Smart City goals align seamlessly through a shared commitment to sustainability, technology - driven innovation, and inclusivity. These shared principles form a bridge between cutting edge design and urban development forging a path towards a more vibrant and interconnected future, where technology enhances the quality of life while preserving the environment and promoting inclucivity.

This project took place during the fall semester 2022 of my junior year.
This project involved developing a vision for a retail flagship store, designing it and establishing its brand. For this project our class utilized the existing Phoenix Financial Center as the designated building for our flagship store. My choice for this project was to create a book store named Livraria, specializing in design, architecture books, and magazines.
Aiming to honer the history to both the building’s history and the designer Wenceslao Sarmiento, a Peruvian-born American modernist architect, the driving force behind this project was international. This is illustrated through materiality, color, and architecture.
Programs used: Revit, Enscape, Photoshop, and InDesign.
PHOENIX FINANCIAL CENTER WAS DESIGNED BY WENCESLAO SARMIENTO, WHO WAS A PERUVIAN BORN AMERICAN MODERNIST ARCHITECT. THE DESIGN OF THIS BUILDING WAS INFLUENCED BY BRAZILIAN ARCHITECT OSCAR NIMEYER, WHO IS CONSIDERED TO BE ONE OF THE KEY FIGURES IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF MODERN ARCHITECTURE. NIMEYER INSPIRED THE ROUNDNESS AND CURVE OF THE BUILDING WITH THE QUOTE:
“MY WORK IS NOT ABOUT FORM FOLLOWS FUNCTION BUT FORM FOLLOWS BEAUTY OR EVEN BETTER FORM FOLLOWS FEMININE”
