Haileybury is a corporation limited by guarantee and operates as a not-for-profit organisation, Haileybury College Reg No 1191 and an Early Learning Centre.
Haileybury is one of the leading independent schools in the Asia-Pacific region with campuses in Keysborough, Brighton, Berwick, Melbourne (City), an online campus, and schools in Darwin and Tianjin (China). The School is acclaimed for its outstanding academic achievements, small class sizes, a broad range of co-curricular activities and state-of-the-art facilities. Learning is based on the different learning styles of students, and on their gender, age, interests and potential.

With 133 years of history, Haileybury has changed dramatically and is now one of the leading independent schools in Australia.
In 2024, The Educator Magazine awarded Haileybury with Primary School of the Year Non-Government and Education Rising Star of the Year.
The Parallel Education Model at Haileybury allows boys and girls to learn together in their younger years, and then separately as they move into middle and senior years. Haileybury also has a strong sense of community, with links across activities that bring the School together throughout the year.

Haileybury has a diverse student body from across Melbourne and overseas.
Student numbers
On Census Day, 2 August 2024, Haileybury had an enrolment of 4,849 students (Prep – Year 12), of whom 2,578 were boys, 2,268 were girls and three non-binary students. This enrolment included 5 overseas students and 14 Indigenous students. Haileybury also had Early Learning Centre enrolments of 322 for a total enrolment of 5,171.

Student attendance and retention
Attendance
Attendance in Years 9–12 is taken each period and in Prep – Year 8 it is taken twice a day (start and end). These are electronically recorded. Parents of students who are to be absent are asked to record their child’s absence via the School’s app (myHaileybury) prior to 9.30 am on the day of absence. Any discrepancies are followed up by Haileybury staff. In 2024, the attendance rate was 93.5%.
Retention
78.74% of students in Year 12 had been in the School since at least Year 9.
Vocational and Trade Training
2.1% of Years 10–12 boys and 4.5% of Years 10–12 girls were undertaking Vocational or Trade Training (Total: 3.3%). 0.9% of Years 10–12 Haileybury Pangea students were undertaking Vocational or Trade Training
Student outcomes
Haileybury prides itself on its student outcomes, in particular the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) and the National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN). In 2024, Haileybury students achieved an exceptional set of results, with six students obtaining the highest possible Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) of 99.95. Some 51.5% of Haileybury ATAR results were in the top 10% in the country, with an ATAR of 90 and above. Haileybury Pangea, Haileybury’s online school, had 44.0% of students with an ATAR of 90 and above.

CEO | Principal’s Message to the Haileybury Community
Haileybury’s Year 12 graduating students have achieved an outstanding set of results. They are a testament to their hard work, resilience and commitment, and open a wealth of opportunities for their post school future.
Six Haileybury students have earned the highest possible Australian Tertiary Admissions Ranking (ATAR) of 99.95. This is an extraordinary accomplishment, given that only a small number of students across the country achieve this remarkable score each year.
In addition, 54% of Haileybury Girls College students and 50% of Haileybury College students received an ATAR of 90 or higher, placing them in the top 10% in the country. The combined median ATAR for both Haileybury boys and girls was 91, reflecting another year of exceptional academic performance.
I am also pleased to report that 96% of Haileybury students ranked in the top 40% nationally, which highlights our School’s ongoing commitment to ensuring that every student has the opportunity to achieve their personal best. Our motto, ‘every student matters every day,’ is central to our approach, and these results reflect the dedicated support our students receive from our exceptional teaching staff.
Haileybury Pangea, now in its second year of graduating classes, has achieved outstanding results. The Dux attained an impressive ATAR of 99.55, with 44% of students scoring 90 or above, and a median ATAR of 86. These achievements demonstrate that high-quality education transcends geographic boundaries and can be successfully delivered in diverse formats.
The class of 2024 has demonstrated great resilience and collaboration throughout their senior years. Their commitment to their studies, supported by their teachers and families, has been wonderful to see. I extend my deepest gratitude to our brilliant staff for their ongoing dedication and care, which have been key to our students’ success.
I would also like to acknowledge the important role played by Haileybury families. The academic achievements we celebrate today are the result of a strong partnership between students, parents, guardians and the School. This collective effort has helped to bring out the best in our students.

NAPLAN results
In 2024, all students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 undertook the National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy testing. The results were outstanding and continued to show improvement from past results. The results reaffirm that Haileybury is one of Australia’s leading schools in literacy and numeracy.
The graphs below show the average mark a student achieved at each year level compared to the state and national averages. Data published on the My School website indicates that, at all year levels, Haileybury is performing well above similar schools in most areas. Haileybury continues to work towards ensuring all students achieve at their highest possible level.

Destination data
The vast majority of Haileybury graduates chose to go on to further education, whether that be at university, TAFE or an apprenticeship. The excellent education they received enabled students to pursue varied pathways and courses.
In 2024, 100% of all female students and 98.5% of all male students who applied for tertiary courses, received at least one offer through VTAC. The most popular universities continued to be Monash University and The University of Melbourne.
