FDU THE FUTURE OF INJECTION MOULDING The „Flat Die Unit“ is a development synergy project of HAIDLMAIR GROUPcompanies under the leadership of the HAIDLMAIR „Advanced Technologies“. It combines the benefits of the injection moulding and extrusion technology. The FDU is a newly developed open hot-runner nozzle system for injection moulds. The flow channel in the nozzle has been projected onto a flat nozzle. The plastic flows evenly into the cavity through a defined narrow gap instead of a small pin gate.
FOR HIGHER PRODUCTIVITY
The FDU is particulary suitable for the use of polyolefins. The FDU opens new dimensions in injection moulding because of its extraordinary geometry. Major reduction of the cycle time and an improved component quality are only two FDU-advantages in comparision with conventional systems. Finalised projects show that we achieved cycle time reductions up to 26 % and pressure drops up to 300 bar. Benefit from the advantages of the FDU and the resulting higher productivity and use the future of injection moulding already right now!
