“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.”

We

As I gather my thoughts and memories from Bambi, my emotions turn to tears. These past few years Bambi Homes has had a wild ride. A couple of months into the COVID-19 pandemic, after suffering an absolute drought of contributions, our finances were severely hurt, and our Foundation was a few months away from having to shut down forever. At the time, with the objective of never reducing the number of our children and families, a full restructuring was carried out.
Together with all our team of collaborators in Bambi, our Board of Directors in Bogotá and the Board of Directors of American Friends of Bambi Homes, we set out to do the almost impossible task of surviving. We worked incessantly to seek help and contributions. Believe me, no stone was left unturned.
And here we are… Because of you, our contributors, we are deeply proud to say that we are still standing.
Today, April 18th, 2024, we want to thank you and celebrate with you that our Foundation continues to produce an impact on many children and mothers, that depend on Bambi to escape from the relentless quicksand of poverty in Colombia. These mothers and children rely on us and on you, our contributors, to help them break free from a never-ending, downward spiral of poverty and lack of opportunities in our country. In Bambi, we are a beacon of light for these families.
To this day, we have served over 17,000 children and 1,200 families. We provide our children a home, a bed where to sleep in peace, food, education, medical and psychological treatment with accredited specialists. Our children find in Bambi love, care and security. Additionally, through our Promefa Program, we offer our mother beneficiaries training, education (many graduate from school while in Promefa) and funding to help them seek a dignified sustainable income for their family.
I want to express our heartfelt gratitude to all the artists and galleries for donating their incredible work and sharing with our Foundation the gift of art. Our deepest gratitude also goes to Christie’s, Aviomar, our sponsors, patrons, volunteers, board members and to our Host Committee for contributing their time and efforts to allow this magical night to unfold in New York.
Thank you for contributing to our cause. Now more than ever, every effort counts. Your generosity is the wind in our sails.

Welcome to Be Part’s eighth auction event in New York City.
We invite you to join us as we support Bambi Homes, an organization that serves disadvantaged children with the collective goal that they can live happily, with equal opportunities and conditions, in their local community. Be Part Auctions have been taking place since 2009 in New York, Miami and Madrid and have become an event that showcases the incredible talent of Colombian Artists with an aim to raise funding and awareness for this very important cause.
This year we are excited to have our biggest roster of Colombian artists to date and we are thankful for their generosity.
The last three years have brought great challenges to Bambi Homes. With the pandemic causing the disruption of much needed donations, Bambi Homes was forced to become independent and self funding. It was a huge achievement by our director in Colombia, Cristina Serna, to ensure that children were not abandoned during this time.
The American Friends of Bambi Homes strives to help support the children and programs specifically in Bogotá, Colombia. The children accepted into the program are those of extreme vulnerability, who have either been abandoned by their families or have suffered from mistreatment or abuse. These children not only need a safe home and environment but need the support of a trained staff to care for them in a loving and nourishing way.
Bambi offers four programs: The first two are, the Foster Children Program and Protection Program for children who have been abandoned who live at the home full time while their situation is being defined, providing them all the care they require which includes providing a safe home, meals, medical care, therapy with mental health experts and teachers. Our third program is the Community Daycare for children from the local neighbourhood who come for the day to receive care, meals, physical education and medical care. The families of these children are enrolled in our fourth program, Family Improvement Program, which focuses on providing psychosocial services as well as providing job training to help the economic stability of the family to ensure a secure environment for the child.
We invite you to get involved and generously participate so that we may reach many new children and families awaiting our support as their only hope for their future. A bid for art work will not only provide a beautiful addition in your home but it will support a child in need. Every dollar goes a long way in Colombia; with just USD$350 you can cover the cost of one child’s needs for one month and USD$4,200 covers an entire year.
A heartfelt thank you to all our donors and newcomers who have supported the event this year and to our sponsors - without your support this event would not have taken place. Thank you to the generosity of the Colombian artists who share the same social responsibility and commitment to Colombia and our cause.
We count on your support. Thank you for joining us!
Sincerely,

Rodrigo Echeverri Bogotá, Colombia
