Why not take a minute to check your home to see if any double glazing has failed? Taking action problems.
When talking to the Manager of Cloudy2Clear Andy Kerridge it became evident that the value of saving their customers money has
been held dear for a number of years. In addition since starting the business in 2005, Cloudy2Clear have committed to supporting the local community by providing a service that saves the public both time and money.
The Cloudy2Clear service only requires the glass to be replaced and not the whole window once the unit has failed. Andy commented “By doing this we make the
customer considerable savings and there is much less upheaval in the family home. Also, whether
money when you don’t need to waste it is always the sensible option, and our service does just that”.

Rebecca Moss Guyver in conversation with Robert Carr
New York Artist Drawn to New Generation at Benton End
In the May edition of Hadleigh Community News, Robert Carr reviewed the successful ‘Inspired by Benton End’ exhibition held at Hadleigh Old School.
Robert took the opportunity to speak with Rebecca Moss Guyver, one of the eight exhibiting artists. She told him about her journey from New York to Hadleigh.
“Although I will always be a New Yorker – I lived on the Upper West Side until I was in my mid-twenties
tremendous surprise. My family spent summers on a little island
locals and shared a sense of independence that I recognised.
Patrick, my husband, and I took the ferry from the Netherlands to the UK and drove around the M25 to most of the places you could commute to
At this point in time, I have spent about as long here as I did in NYC24 years. I wasn’t aware of the high density of accomplished artists I would meet and collaborate with but, if I had known, I certainly would
I suspect most artists have the dream of showing work at the Royal Academy. It’s a highly competitive and subjective process to get work accepted that requires a spoonful of luck.
In 2023, the year I showed, Clare Woods RA was one of the selectors, and the theme was Only Connect. My paintings ‘Cat People’ and ‘Dog and Pony Show’ ticked two boxes. They were still life paintings – Clare Woods often works in still life, and the theme suggested my process, bringing disparate things together to make a connection. I had both pieces shortlisted, and ‘Cat People’ was ultimately hung.
was delighted to sell. Would that all the Inspired by Benton End artists get the amazing opportunity to hang at the RA!
I saw Cedric Morris’s paintings at London’s Garden Museum in 2018 and was an instant admirer. I heard that the garden at Benton End was being restored when Sophie Skelton came to my Open Studio the summer before Covid.
However, it wasn’t until Dominica Yannaghas assembled our Inspired by Benton End group that I visited the site of the East Anglian School of Painting. We were all a little lightheaded by the experience of painting and drawing on the grounds and felt like we were in Art School together.
The last six months have been a journey of discovery, experimentation and camaraderie. As well as visiting the gardens and Benton End House, our group has delved into the history of Cedric, Lett-Haines and the students, looked at paintings and made responses to all we saw and learned.
This exhibition has been the culmination of the time spent there and
largely unknown group of artists to them would pull together a body delighted by what we have accomplished and have had plenty of positive feedback about the exhibition.”
Rebecca, along with fellow Old School exhibitors Lynne Campen, Sarah Figlio, Judith Glover, Annabel Ridley and Dominica Yannaghas, will be opening her studio to the public during June. Details can be found on www.su olkopenstudios.org

time a phone call came through from my amazing friend Geraldine who gave me good talking to and told me to get on with it. I kept steady and took regular gels and water - the miles passed and the crowds were amazing. Yet more tears and spiralling emotions. My whole body was hurting but I just kept going. The last 4 plus miles were a blur but strangely I felt strong knowing I would be crossing the line soon. I passed Buckingham Palace and came into the Mall and then there I saw my family shouting and waving from the grandstand. It was the best feeling ever and as i it.
