The city of New York is the largest U.S. city, with over 8.8 million residents. It has a diverse ethnic makeup, with a majority of Asian immigrants living in Queens. Historically African American churches are mostly affiliated with the National Baptist Convention (USA) or the Progressive National Baptist Convention. The Church of God in Christ is the largest predominantly Black Pentecostal denomination, and it is also home to 1% of the city's Mormon population. Eastern Christian groups are also wellrepresented, and the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America and other Orthodox Christians were the largest groups. The American Orthodox Catholic Church was founded in New York in 1927. During the recovery from the Great Recession, New York City experienced record job creation. Yet, housing production grew only slightly, adding only 0.19 units for every net new job. This wide gap between job creation and housing production was the largest among major U.S. cities. In addition, the de Blasio Administration has stopped the practice of downzoning neighborhoods in order to make more affordable housing available. However, redevelopment in higher-income neighborhoods remains problematic, as the city's supply of housing is inadequate to meet demand. Located in the city's financial district, the Stock Exchange is one of the country's largest sources of pollution. However, the city has the lowest per capita electricity use and greenhouse gas emissions among U.S. cities. To get a sense of New York's history, check out the City's historic sites and monuments. For example, the New York Stock Exchange is the oldest building in the world and the home of the New York City Board of Trade. The media industry in New York is also vibrant, with over 200 newspapers and 350 consumer magazines in the city. The city's print media is highly diverse, with the largest Spanish-language newspaper, El Diario La Prensa, among the oldest. The New York Amsterdam News is a prominent African-American newspaper. However, the Village Voice announced in 2017 that it would cease printing its print edition and convert to a fully digital venture. New York has been the home of television and radio, and three major U.S. broadcast networks are headquartered in the city. For sports enthusiasts, New York hosts three National Hockey League teams. The New York Rangers, a part of the Original Six, traditionally represent the city. The New York Islanders, meanwhile, represent the boroughs of Long Island, and play at the UBS Arena in Elmont. The New Jersey Devils play at the Prudential Center in Newark. Historically, the Devils represent counties in neighboring New Jersey. Tax policy changes may have contributed to the decrease in development of two-to-four-unit properties. Between 2000 and 2009, twenty-eight percent of all permitted units were in two-to-fourunit buildings. That's down to just seven percent. Developers are reluctant to build four-to-six-unit properties, because adding a fourth unit bumps a building from Class 1 to Class 2, which has a much
