“ One of the best academic girls’ schools around –and it has caught up pastorally too. Innovation prioritised since our last visit, as well as more co-ed options – both testament to the school’s promise to prepare these confident, likeable young women for an ever-changing world.

Feels close-knit despite the large size.

If you know and understand the girls and create a nurturing environment, their inner self confidence can come to the fore in the classroom.

Both the girls and parents are lapping it up – ‘It’s a kinder school now.’

Hats off to her for bringing more fun back into school life too – girls kept bringing this up.

School continuously shows its gleaming mettle, flying amongst the top schools in the UK in all league tables.

Parents told us of ‘bright’ and ‘driven’ daughters feeding off the school’s ‘high expectations’ and ‘academic rigour ’

“Pastoral care has ramped up tenfold since our last visit – the current head seen as largely responsible for prioritising mental health with two pastoral leads having joined the existing counsellors and nurses. Girls say they feel known, not just in form time, but in classes and co-curricular

High octane sports programme, with five-star facilities across the board –seven tennis courts, fabulous swimming pool (lifeguard training anyone?)

We met girls doing more than five clubs a week (160 to choose from), others who had set up societies (eg banking and finance society, South Asian society, editing the school magazine) and some who spent their lunchtimes working on projects such as F1 in Schools.

Elsewhere, we saw pupils lining up to play tennis, while others told us of doing CCF, chess, creative writing, zoology, crochet and more. ‘It’s an ever-moving feast as we always play to the interests of the girls.’

Director of performance music now joint with boys’. ‘It’s next level now,’ said one girl excitedly, while parents told us of ‘amazing’ performances at the likes of the Barbican and St John Smith’s Square.

Diversity considered the school’s ‘superpower ’. One girl we met organised a Bollywood night, others told us about the breaking of the fast for Muslims, as well as Hanukkah parties. We passed a multi-faith room. LGBTQ+ has its own vibrant society; ditto for neurodiversity.
