Friday 22 March Spring Term
Head of Prep School’s message
On Wednesday this week Year 3 to 6 came together for one of my highlights of the Prep School calendar – House Singing.
House Singing is a wonderful tradition where our talented boys showcase their creativity and teamwork by putting their own spin on popular songs. It's always a joy to witness the enthusiasm and dedication they put into their performances.
I must say, this year's performances were truly outstanding. Patricks brought a smile to everyone's faces with their rendition of 'Living on Eclairs,' a clever twist on a Bon Jovi classic inspired by Mr Bowley's love for sweet treats. Andrews rocked the stage with their anthem 'We are, we are Andrews,' penned by Ishva, Colin, Syon, and Dexter, showcasing their pride in their house. Davids soared with their rendition of Imagine Dragons' hit, leaving everyone feeling ‘on top of the world’. However, it was Georges who really couldn’t ‘stop the feeling’ after emerging as winners with their electrifying performance of their own version of the Justin Timberlake hit.
As always, I must commend all the houses for their incredible efforts; each performance was a testament to the talent and spirit within our school community. The atmosphere in the hall was nothing short of magical, and it was heartwarming to see the sense of camaraderie and support among the boys. I can only imagine the challenge Ms Gozzard and Mr Martin faced in selecting a winner from such a pool of talent. Events like these truly reinforce the strong sense of community we have here at our school.
Congratulations to all the boys, and a heartfelt thank you to everyone involved in making this event a success, including those of you at home who I am sure now know the lyrics as well as the boys do.
Warm regards,
Ms K Umpleby Head of Prep & Pre-Prep

Tupperware for Grab and Go GUIDANCE FOR PARENTS
As part of our ongoing efforts to become more environmentally friendly, we are encouraging students to bring their own Tupperware containers for sandwiches. By using reusable containers instead of single-use plastic bags or cling wrap, we can significantly reduce the amount of waste generated during lunchtime. Therefore, we kindly request your support in this endeavour. We encourage you to provide your child with a suitable Tupperware container should they wish to choose a sandwich from the Bates dining room Grab and Go section. Thank you for your continued support.
MorningArrival at the Prep School

Please be reminded that morning drop off at the Prep School is from 8am. Pupils should not be arriving to school earlier than this time as they will not be supervised in the playground or in the classroom. We appreciate your support regarding this. MiniDash Photos Habs Giving Day
Parents who ran with their children in the Habs Giving Day MiniDash on 5 March have been given access to an online portfolio with hundreds of images from the day. But we thought those of you unable to join us that morning might also like to see a selection of photos from what was a truly fun, joyous and entirely silly morning.
In all, 340 parents joined their children from both Prep and Junior Schools for the fun run. Together they smashed all the challenges set by donors, ‘unlocking’ £100,000 in extra funding. All told, the schools have received £250,000 from more than 600 donors to support the Bursary Fund and Habs Community Partnerships. We hope to see you on the croquet lawn next year for Habs Giving Day 2025!
