A warm welcome
From Dr Hazel Bagworth-Mann Headmistress

Our purpose at Habs is to empower every student to make a profound impact in the world. Our commitment is deeply rooted in enabling our young people to succeed academically, but also to develop independence, resilience and a strong moral compass to create positive change. We believe in nurturing leaders who can influence society positively and inspire those around them through kindness and worthwhile actions. Our school values of ambition, curiosity, courage and community are embedded in all we do.
We are an academically ambitious school and we are proud of our students’ academic achievements. They achieve at the highest levels and go on to study at top universities in this country and abroad. However, passing exams and securing places at leading institutions is only one very small part of it. We encourage a culture of scholarship and intellectual curiosity and we want our students to develop a deep love of learning – a real passion for their subjects whilst fostering critical thinking.
We constantly challenge our students to push beyond conventional exam-based learning through our dynamic curriculum and wide array of co-curricular activities and partnerships. Together, these diverse opportunities cultivate personal attributes like character, independence, teamwork and effective communication.
We value each student uniquely, supporting their pursuit of happiness and personal growth. Creating a strong sense of belonging where every student can flourish is central to our pastoral ethos. We instil in our students the value of taking charge and embracing leadership roles. Whether it is in sport, music, the Arts, CCF, or through our diverse partnership programmes, we empower students to understand their contribution to building a stronger, more united community while enjoying the journey.
By fostering academic excellence, personal growth and community engagement, we equip our students to leave us fully prepared to make a profound impact in the world.
Our values
We are Habs because of our students and staff, our campus location and our desire for progress. Our roots lie firmly in our philanthropic founding principles and, with our deep sense of purpose in our community, we want to attract and retain talent who want to make a meaningful difference to the world.

Ambition
We are bold and ambitious –for ourselves, for others and for the world.
This is underpinned by our altruistic and philanthropic foundation, which drives our values and behaviours. We expect everyone to give of their best, to stretch boundaries, and to challenge the status quo. We believe that ambition can be limitless. When combined with courage, curiosity and community, ambition can be a selfless and powerful lever for change.

Curiosity
We create and use every opportunity to engage with the world around us; we ask questions, challenge assumptions and express our ideas.
Alongside our academic interests and skills, we love to exercise our imaginations, creativity and spirituality. Our broad and carefully curated curriculum leads us into experiences of awe and wonder – bringing a sense of magic and excitement to learning.

Courage
Exploring beyond our comfort zones enables us to become more self-aware, adventurous, resilient and independent.
We aim high, following our dreams but we cope well if we do not always succeed. We understand how to balance humility and boldness when speaking out on behalf of ourselves and others and we are unflinching problem-solvers, continually seeking to change the world for the better.

Community
Habs is one caring, respectful community on one fabulous campus.
Beyond our students and staff, this sense of collaborative togetherness extends to our families, alumni, partner schools, the Haberdashers’ Company and schools and even the world. Our focus is on belonging, inclusivity and celebrating our differences. We are learning from and working with wider communities – locally, nationally and globally. We bring the world to our door, but we also step through that door into the wider world.

A warm welcome
From Mrs Claire Brown Head of Junior School

Our purpose at Habs Junior School is to offer girls an academically outstanding education filled with awe and wonder that prepares them for their journey to the Senior School. We aim to prepare our pupils for lives and careers which will demand a strong moral compass, resilience, empathy, the ability to create solutions and to lead. We instil a genuine love of learning within the classroom, encouraging curiosity and ambition which leads to academic excellence. Our school values of Ambition, Curiosity, Courage and Community are at the heart of all we do at Habs and these values are presented to the girls the moment they walk through our doors.
Our curriculum is dynamic and ambitious, providing the students with exciting yet meaningful experiences in the classroom and beyond. We encourage everyone to take risks, investigate and explore, helping to instil a genuine love of learning and sense of curiosity. We seek to develop and nurture well-rounded individuals who are academically ambitious, while also sharing a passion for sport, music and the arts. Outside of the classroom, we offer an outstanding outdoor learning experience. We are fortunate to have our own Forest School, outdoor tipi and wildwood den, where our trained professionals encourage our students to engage in hands-on activities that promote teamwork, problem-solving and resilience.
Pastoral care is at the heart of all we do, we endeavour to ensure that every girl is well known and cared for. We teach our girls to care for one another and understand the role they play within our richly diverse community. We know that girls perform best when we work in partnership, this is why we truly value working alongside you, as parents. We hold a range of events for our parent community - year group breakfasts, Family Fridays and a range of performances and sporting events.
Whilst the girls are taught in a single-sex environment, we are fortunate to be situated on a co-educational campus, which allows for frequent collaboration with Habs’ Boys Prep and Pre-Prep School. From Planetarium trips to lunchtime music concerts, we create opportunities for friendship and learning in a supportive and safe environment.
By instilling a genuine love of learning, with exceptional pastoral care and a broad co-curricular programme, we equip our girls to move on to the next stages in their educational journey, prepared to make a profound impact in the world.
