Habesha Breweries S.C is launching an alcohol free dark malt drink ADDIS ABABA (February 14, 2019) — Habesha Breweries S.C is launching Negus, a new alcohol free dark malt drink starting this month. The launch comes after thorough market research and many consumer surveys to ensure we have the right taste that will delight many Ethiopians. Negus is a refreshing beverage for people that prefer alcohol free drinks and those seeking for an alternative to soft drinks. Brewed in Habesha Breweries’ Debre Birhan brewery, Negus will initially be made available in Addis Ababa and Debre Birhan. “This launch comes after our third year since Habesha Beer has been successfully on the market and I’m very pleased we achieved our plan to launch Negus in a timely manner,” says Zewdu Nigate, CEO for Habesha Breweries S.C. “We are certain that Negus will be highly successful and liked by many Ethiopians as it is brewed with them in mind,” says Zewdu. Negus, which directly translates as King in Amharic, is represented by the images depicted on the logo as shield and spear or a fountain pen which usually characterizes a King.
