Supporting the World Pheasant Association and Countryside Learning Scotland

Dear All

I hope this finds you all well, and hungry for a good day out at County Clays with Countryside learning Scotland and the World Pheasant Association.

The popular driven layout will be repeated again this year as well as the sporting layout for the individual trophy and the pool shoot for those wishing to test their skills. We are delighted to welcome for the first time two junior teams from the next generation of shooters who I am sure will hold their own against the more experienced shots. A wide variety of abilities will be on show however, the purpose of the day is to enjoy the company, test your skills and have a fun day out. To this end and with the dominance of Findrack sporting over the last few years we have decided that each team / individual will only be able to win one prize on the day to give everyone a chance of a prize.

The Crockarts of Blairgowrie side by side trophy will once again be up for grabs. Only teams who all shoot with side by side shot guns in the flushes will be eligible to compete for the Crockarts Side by Side Team flush trophy, their score will also be included in the overall team flush competition. Teams shooting with other styles of shot gun will only shoot for the overall team flush prize.

Sponsorship / Advertising

For the first time this year we have produced this programme with https://hbrutherford. com/ and would like to thank all our sponsors for their support. If you would like to sponsor a stand or advertise in the programme at next years shoot, please contact ian@ countrysidelearningscotland.org.uk.

Thank you all for attending the event and by doing so, supporting both rural charities. This is a challenging time for businesses and charitable organisations alike, so please dig deep at the auction.

Have a great day!

Galliformes are an order of heavyformed ground-feeding birds that include pheasants, partridges, cracids, grouse and megapodes. WPA work around the world to conserve these birds both in captivity and in the wild to prevent their extinction and support local communities.

WPA’s current projects include: Pipar

Project - Nepal

School children in Pakistan learn about the preparation of an overview of Cheer pheasant populations throughout the species’ range of Pakistan, India and Nepal to help determine conservation priorities.

The Himalayas are home to WPA's longest running project, a communitybased conservation program in the Annapurna region of Nepal. Since 1979, WPA has been monitoring Pipar's forests and Galliformes, and providing support for villages and schools in the surrounding area.

Pheasant Reintroduction Program

The Vietnam Pheasant (formerly known as the Edwards’s Pheasant) is classified as Critically Endangered. It has not been seen in the wild since 2000 and may be extinct. WPA has safeguarded a backup population of this species and is supplying birds for the reintroduction in Vietnam.
