GET TO KNOW GRANGER

A Christian, family business, guided by the Golden Rule, which creates and manages sustainable environmental solutions
At Granger, community is the heart of our business. Granger associates live and work in the communities they serve.
We strive every day to live by the Golden Rule, treating others the way we want to be treated and providing dependable and consistent service to our customers.
Keeping our communities clean, and doing it as safely as possible is something that gives us tremendous pride.
We get involved. You’ll watch Granger trucks in local parades, meet our mascot Captain Curby SM at events, use our containers at community cleanup days, see our support of local schools and work side-by-side with our associates on committees.
We embrace service and connection with our customers. That means we go above and beyond, exceed your expectations and care enough to wave to your kids every week.
Giving back is an important priority. The Granger Corporate Giving Program provides support for local organizations and events with in-kind and cash donations and sponsorships.

The waste we collect isn’t wasted. It’s used as a resource when landfill gas is converted to renewable energy.
We offer commercial and residential customers, as well community members, the ability to conveniently recycle many items through cubside collection and drop-off centers. Our annual recycling efforts preserve approximately 74,074 cubic yards of landfill space.
Granger landfills are engineered with the utmost care. Groundwater and the surrounding area are protected using the best available practices and technologies.
In 1985, Granger became the first company in Michigan to harness the power of landfills as a renewable source of energy. Since then, decomposing waste in Granger landfills has been continuously used to generate renewable energy in some form or another.
Renewable energy company EDL opened Lansing’s first renewable natural gas (RNG) facility in 2021. The facility extracts approximately 22,000 tons of waste gas from Granger Waste Services’ Wood Street Landfill and converts it into approximately 870,000 mmBtu of RNG each year.
EDL also operates Grand River Generating Station, which uses landfill gas from Granger Waste Services’ Grand River Avenue Landfill to generate 3.2 megawatts (MW) of electricity.
