Hats (Reg 7(i)

All mounted persons on the showground to wear safety hats which conform to the current regulations.

Correctness of Details (Reg 18)

It is the Exhibitors’ or Competitors’ responsibility to ensure that all the information provided is correct.

Refunds (Reg 20)

Refunds will only be provided on production of a veterinary certificate. which must be received by the Entries Office no more than 7 days after the last day of Show. Levies included in the entry fee will not be refunded. Stable fees will not be refunded.

Eligibility to Enter (Reg 21)

Exhibitors must ensure the entry is registered with the appropriate breed society for the classes being entered and, where necessary, the Owner, Rider and Exhibitor.

Payment of Prizes (Regs 35 & 36)

Winning exhibitors will be issued with a prize money voucher which must be redeemed during the show. Vouchers not presented will be forfeited.

Objections (Reg 40)

Must be made in writing and submitted to the Society Office no later than 17:00 on the day of the class and accompanied by a deposit of £50.

GDPR Condition of Entry

Details of entries made will only be shared with breed societies and/or shows to confirm eligibility and/or qualification. Results will be displayed on the Show’s web site. Breed societies will also provide/use some of your information. Please go to the relevant society’s web page to view their policy as to how, when and why your details will be used.

Equine Flu (Reg 49)

All equines attending the Royal Bath & West Show 2024 must have been vaccinated for Equine Influenza.

The requirement for the first 3 vaccinations is as follows: the first 2 vaccinations 21 – 92 days apart, a third booster between 150-215 days, and an annual booster vaccination within 365 days thereafter.

No horse should enter competitions within 7 days of an EI vaccination.

Foals should commence vaccinations at 6 months old.

If the Champion has already qualified, then the Reserve Champion will go forward. Only the Champion or Reserve Champion will qualify. Prize Money at the final will be: 1st £1,000; 2nd £400; 3rd £100; 4th £50; 5th £25; 6th £25; 7th £25; 8th £25 together with sashes for the Champion and Reserve, and Rosettes to all other prize winners and finalists. This Championship has been kindly sponsored by The Andrews Family.

National WPBR In-Hand Championships

All first and second placed WPCS registered Welsh Part Bred exhibits in relevant classes (not already qualified) qualify to enter. Unregistered qualifiers with 12.5% Welsh blood may retrospectively register with WPCS prior to entry. In the Part Bred Welsh classes the Champion and Reserve will qualify.

The IDHS (GB) £2000 Challenge

This show is a qualifier for the IDHS(GB) £2,000 Ridden Challenge. The highest placed horse/s (not already qualified) from each of the above classes will qualify for the final of the IDHS (GB) £2,000 Ridden Challenge which will be held at the IDHS (GB) National Championship Show on 7th & 8th September 2024 at Onley Equestrian Centre, Onley Grounds Farm, Willoughby, Rugby, Warwickshire CV23 8AJ. A horse may only qualify for the final once, regardless of the type or number of classes won, placed in or entered.

Qualifiers will be contacted by a member of the IDHS Show Team. Qualifiers are required to complete an online form at www.idhsgb.org.uk to inform the IDHS (GB) that they have qualified for the final. In the Final, the Champion will be awarded £1,000 prize money, and a trophy the Reserve Champion will be awarded £500 and 3rd to 7th inclusive will be awarded £100 each. In addition, the highest placed Purebred Irish Draught will receive a trophy and £100, and the highest placed Sport Horse will receive a trophy and £50.

Moorbennhall ID Youngstock Challenge The IDHS (GB) Sport Horse Youngstock Challenge

Class H123

This show is a qualifier for both The Moorbennhall Irish Draught Youngstock Challenge and the IDHS (GB) Irish Draught Sport Horse Youngstock Challenge. The two highest placed Irish Draught pure-breds and Irish Draught Sport Horses from each age group in Class H123 yearlings, two year olds and three year olds, that are eligible for Class 1 on the Irish Draught Breed Register by an RID (GB), Class 1 or Class 2 sire out of a Graded dam, OR registered on the Irish Draught Sport Horse Register (must have a minimum of 25% proven ID breeding). If one or both have already qualified, the horse next in line in each age group will qualify for their respective final which will be held at the 7th & 8th September 2024 at Onley Equestrian Centre, Onley Grounds Farm, Willoughby, Rugby, Warwickshire CV23 8AJ. Qualifiers will be contacted by a member of the IDHS Show Team. Qualifiers are required to complete an online form at www.idhsgb.org.uk to inform the IDHS (GB) that they have qualified for the final. In their respective final, there will be three preliminary classes with the two highest placed semi[1]finalists from each class going forward to the Championship where the Champion will receive £500 and the Reserve Champion £150.

NPS/BLACKERTOR & SHARPTOR STUDS M&M IN HAND SILVER MEDAL ROSETTE Judges: Judging on:

A Silver Medal Rosette is offered by the National Pony Society for the best registered pony owned by an NPS Qualifying or Life member in the M&M In Hand sections.

To be judged under the rules of the NPS. NPS silver medal rosettes are only awarded when the owner of the champion pony is a Qualifying or Life Member of the NPS. A valid membership card must be in the rider's/handler's possession on entering the ring and be produced immediately on request by either the judge or the steward. If the Owner of the Champion Pony is not a Member, or the owner's membership card is not immediately produced the rosette may be awarded to the Reserve Champion provided they have the required membership card. If the Champion has previously qualified it is still entitled to the Silver Medal Rosette but the Qualification Card goes to the Reserve Champion Pony, provided the Owner of that pony is a Member of the NPS. The Silver Medal Rosette and the Qualification Card can be awarded no lower than first Reserve (third). Foals are not eligible for Silver Medal Rosette Championships.

RIDDEN COBS & WORKING SHOW HORSE Judges: Mr Jack Cochrane - Conformation & Mr Nicholas Collins – Ride (Ridden Cobs) Mr Jack Cochrane - Conformation & Mr Matthew Lawrence - Ride (Working Show Horse) Judging on: Thursday Held under the rules of the British Show Horse Association. Owners, Riders and Horses must be registered or have temporary membership with a Day Ticket. Horses registered with the Association must be Owned, Exhibited and Ridden by current BSHA Members. Riders must be 15 years of age or older. Registration numbers must be quoted on entry.

DAY TICKETS: Non-Members may purchase up to a maximum of 2 Day Tickets per Exhibitor, per Horse, per Rider, per season. A Day Ticket will allow entry into Amateur, Home Produced, In-Hand, Novice, Working, Young Rider and Open affiliated classes only, BUT WILL NOT ALLOW entry into RIHS (excluding Working Show Horse) or HOYS qualifying classes. Horses registered on a Day Ticket do not require a JMB height certificate.

Competitors can apply for a Day Ticket by downloading an application form, or apply online on the BSHA website.

Horse of the Year Show Classes H2, H3 & H4 are qualifiers for Horse of the Year Show, NEC, Birmingham, 9th-13th October 2024, and will attract a £18.00 Horse of the Year Show contribution with each entry.

Qualification will not pass below fifth place. Qualification will be verified by the Horse of the Year Show office. Owners, Riders, producers and horses must be registered with BSHA. The qualifying horse will be the highest placed, previously unqualified, exhibit within the top 5 placings.

Classes will be run in accordance with the general rules set out in the Horse of the Year Show rulebook, a copy of which can be downloaded from www.hoys.co.uk.

This is a Horse of the Year Show Qualifier, all data given upon entry of this class is provided to Grandstand Media Limited and stored on the Grandstand Entries System. For full policy details please visit www.grandstandentries.com.

Exhibitors are required by DEFRA to carry with them Official Identity Documents for all horses/ponies when competing or travelling. Competitors are reminded that it is a DEFRA requirement that the Official Identity Documents must be in the name of the legal owner within 30 days of ownership. This must be registered with the breed society, relevant studbook or ID issuing agency, dependant on breed/type of animal. Spot checks may be carried out at qualifying shows and by breed societies.

BSHA SUPREME OF THE YEAR The highest placed unqualified exhibit in the top 5 in each Open Affiliated class will qualify to compete in the BSHA Supreme of the Year Final. The Finals will be held at the BSHA National Championship Shows in September 2024.

The BSHA offer a Novice, Young Rider and Amateur rosette in each Open class and a Champion rosette for each section (with the exception of Open Working Show Horse, Ladies Show Horse & HOYS Hunter classes). Recipients of the Young Rider rosette will qualify for the BSHA Young Rider of the Year at the National Championship Show in September 2024.

National Welsh Championship Show This Show is a qualifier for The National Ridden Welsh PB Championships. All first and second placed WPCS registered Welsh PB exhibits in the classes (not already qualified) qualify to enter. See Qualifier page for full details.

The IDHS(GB) £2000 Challenge This Show is a qualifier and the highest placed horse (not already qualified) in H1, H2, H3 & H4 will qualify for the Final of the IDHS(GB) £2000 Challenge. See Qualifier page for details.

Class H1

NOVICE COB/MAXI COB, MARE OR GELDING Four years old or over, exceeding 148cms. A Novice is a Hack, Cob, Maxi Cob or Riding Horse that has not won a first prize of £25 or more, or more than a total of £150 (including any Championship Prize Money) in any showing classes excluding Working Show Horses, Best Trained, Pairs, Side Saddle, or In-Hand classes that were Affiliated to the Association, at home or abroad, prior to 1st January in the current year. Winnings as a 4 year old are exempt, unless that 4 year old has won an Open Ridden class with a first prize of £25 or more. If the category has changed from a Hack to a Riding Horse or vice versa, it may not revert back to a Novice. Snaffle bridles may be worn for Novice classes. Novice animals must be Registered with the Association or Exhibitors must have purchased a ‘Day Ticket’ in order to compete in Novice classes. Animals which have been placed in the top five at either the Royal International Horse Show or Horse of the Year Show in any OPEN ridden class, BSHA or otherwise, with the exception of the Search for a Star finals, are ineligible to compete in Novice Hack, Cob, Maxi Cob or Riding Horse classes. Horses competing in Novice classes must be ridden by the Judge, before being asked to “strip” for conformation.

All affiliated BSHA Open Working Show Horse classes are qualifiers for the Royal International Horse Show final and the SEIB Working Show Horse Final. For the RIHS qualification, the winner, if not already qualified in the Working Show Horse class will qualify. If the first has already qualified, the qualification may pass down to no lower than fifth place. For the SEIB Working Show Horse qualification, the two highest placed unqualified in the top 5 will qualify.

Open ONLY to Hacks, Cobs, Maxi Cobs and Riding Horses, mare or gelding four years old and over, exceeding 148cms. This class is NOT open to Hunters, ie those horses registered and competing as a hunter or working hunter with BSHA, Sport Horse Breeding of Great Britain or The Showing Register for the current season.

Please refer to rule 2(iv) in the 2024 BSHA Rulebook. The Working Show Horse qualifying classes may be entered on a day ticket, but appropriate membership and horse registration must be applied for within 14 days of the qualifier in order to confirm qualification. Any Horse which is a Grade B Showjumper, Intermediate Eventer, or above, as at the 1st January of the current year, is not eligible to compete in any Working Show Horse class. A Rider may ride up to two Horses in the jumping phase but must then select one Horse to take through to the Ride and Conformation phases (if required). No change of Rider is allowed (RIHS)

RIDING HORSES Judges: Miss Margaret Hennessy – Conformation & Miss Sarah Chapman - Ride Judging on: Thursday Held under the rules of the British Show Horse Association. Owners, Riders and Horses must be registered or have temporary membership with a Day ticket. Horses registered with the Association must be Owned, Exhibited and ridden by current BSHA Members. Riders must be 15 years of age or older. Registration numbers must be quoted on entry.

DAY TICKETS: Non-Members may purchase up to a maximum of two Day Tickets per Exhibitor, per Horse, per Rider, per season. A Day Ticket will allow entry into Novice, Amateur, Young Rider, Home Produced, Working, In-Hand and Open affiliated classes only BUT WILL NOT ALLOW entry into RIHS qualifying Open classes. Horses registered on a Day Ticket do not require a JMB height certificate. Competitors can apply for a Day Ticket by downloading an application form or apply online on the BSHA website.

Royal International Horse Show Classes H8 & H9 are qualifiers for The Royal International Horse Show and will attract a £11.00 RIHS levy with each entry. The first prize winner will qualify to compete at the final. If already qualified the second will qualify, if the first and second are already qualified then the third will go forward.

Horses competing at the RIHS and qualifying shows in Hunter sections of The Sport Horse Breeding of Great Britain at their Affiliated Shows cannot compete in Hack, Cobs and Riding Horse classes at the same show, on the same day and vice versa. This does not apply to SHB (GB) Ridden Sport Horse classes.

BSHA National Championship Show The highest placed unqualified exhibit in the top 5 in each Open Affiliated class will qualify to compete in the BSHA Supreme of the Year Final. The Finals will be held at the BSHA National Championship Shows in September 2024.

The BSHA offer a Novice, Young Rider and Amateur rosette in each Open class and a Champion rosette for each section (with the exception of Open Working Show Horse, Ladies Show Horse & HOYS Hunter classes). Recipients of the Young Rider rosette will qualify for the BSHA Young Rider of the Year at the National Championship Show in September 2024.

The IDHS(GB) £2000 Challenge This Show is a qualifier and the highest placed horse (not already qualified) in each class will qualify for the Final of the IDHS(GB) £2000 Challenge.

Class H7

NOVICE RIDING HORSE, MARE OR GELDING Four years old or over, exceeding 148cms. A Novice is a Hack, Cob, Maxi Cob or Riding Horse that has not won a first prize of £25 or more, or more than a total of £150 (including any Championship Prize Money) in any showing classes excluding Working Show Horses, Best Trained, Pairs, Side Saddle, or In-Hand classes that were Affiliated to the Association, at home or abroad, prior to 1st January in the current year. Winnings as a 4 year old are exempt, unless that 4 year old has won an Open Ridden class with a first prize of £25 or more. If the category has changed from a Hack to a Riding Horse or vice versa, it may not revert back to a Novice. Snaffle bridles may be worn for Novice classes. Novice animals must be Registered with the Association or Exhibitors must have purchased a ‘Day Ticket’ in order to compete in Novice classes. Animals which have been placed in the top five at either the Royal International Horse Show or Horse of the Year Show in any OPEN ridden class, BSHA or otherwise, with the exception of the Search for a Star finals, are ineligible to compete in Novice Hack, Cob, Maxi Cob or Riding Horse classes. Horses competing in Novice classes must be ridden by the Judge, before being asked to “strip” for conformation.

Horse of the Year Show These classes are qualifiers for Horse of the Year Show, NEC, Birmingham, 9th -13th October 2024, and will attract a £18.00 Horse of the Year Show contribution with each entry.

Qualification will not pass below fifth place and qualification will be verified by Horse of the Year Show Office.

Exhibitors are required by DEFRA to carry with them Official Identity Documents for all horses/ponies when competing or travelling. Competitors are reminded that it is a DEFRA requirement that the Official Identity Documents must be in the name of the legal owner within 30 days of ownership. This must be registered with the breed society, relevant studbook or ID issuing agency, dependant on breed/type of animal. Spot checks may be carried out at qualifying shows and by breed societies.

This competition is open to mares, geldings and CHAPS(UK) graded stallions, four years old and over, to be registered in, and complying with the showing requirements of the main body of the stud books of the Coloured Horse and Pony Society (CHAPS(UK)) or the Traditional Gypsy Cob Association (TGCA). Stallions are required to wear stallion discs in order to compete.

All Exhibits, Riders and Owners must be Members of the Coloured Horse and Pony Society, The Showing Register or the Traditional Gypsy Cob Association.

All Stallions must be graded with CHAPS (UK). Stallion ID Discs to be worn in the ring. Lead reins not eligible for these classes. These classes will be run in accordance with the general rules set out in the Horse of the Year Show rulebook, a copy of which can be downloaded from www.hoys.co.uk.

These classes are Horse of the Year Show Qualifiers, all data given upon entry is provided to Grandstand Media Limited and stored on the Grandstand Entries System. For full policy details please visit www.grandstandentries.com.

Only one exhibit may qualify per class. If the first placed animal has already qualified, the qualifier may pass down to the highest placed exhibit standing to fifth place only, who has not already qualified. Qualification will be verified by the Horse of the Year Show office. No spurs to be worn by junior competitors (under 18 years), or any rider competing in a restricted height section. All ages taken as at 1 January in the current year.

Horses/ponies are to be produced at Horse of the Year Show in the same type category in which they qualified.

Failure to comply with ANY of the Qualifying Rules will result in the forfeit of the qualifying place.

The 'pull-in' or 'no pull-in' system is at the discretion of the judges on the day. The judges must make this decision prior to the commencement of the first class and stewards to be instructed accordingly. If no pull is used, competitors will be asked to line up in any order from the initial presentation.

Marks will be awarded in the following way: Ride/Performance 50 marks maximum Conformation, Movement & Quality 50 marks maximum In the case of equality, the horse with the highest ride/performance mark will be deemed the winner. If there is still equality at this point, then the judge's decision will be final.

Part-Breds are not eligible unless entered in the NPS British Riding Pony Stud Book, Register or Appendix, International or Sports Pony section of the BRPSB. Ponies must be plaited.

Qualifying rounds are open to ponies owned by NPS Members and Non-Members but only ponies owned by NPS Qualifying or Life Members are eligible to qualify for the final of the competition.

All Colts, two years old and over must be in possession of a current National Pony Society Breed Society Licence, unless otherwise governed by their individual Breed Society.

NPS/Area 20 Show Pony In Hand Silver Medal Rosette Championship A Silver Medal Rosette is offered by the National Pony Society for the Best Registered Pony owned by an NPS Qualifying or Life Member in the Show Pony In-Hand Section, not exceeding 148cms (14.2hh). Qualifiers are entitled to compete in the final of the Silver Medal Rosette Championship to be held at the NPS Summer Championship Show 2024.

NPS British Riding Pony (Show Pony) Champions Prelim Rounds Qualifier for the Great British In Hand Show – 7th September 2024, Oakridge Arena To be judged under the rules of the NPS. NPS Silver Medal Rosettes are only awarded when the owner of the Champion pony is a Qualifying or Life Member of the NPS. A valid membership card must be in the rider's/hander's possession upon entering the ring and be produced immediately on request by either the judge or steward. If the Owner of the Champion pony is not a member, or the owner's membership card is not produced, the rosette may be awarded to the Reserve Champion provided they have the membership card.

If the Champion has previously qualified, it is still entitled to the Silver Medal Rosette, but the Qualification Card passes to the Reserve Champion, provided the Owner is a Member of the NPS. The Silver Medal Rosette and Qualification Card can be awarded no lower than first Reserve (third). Foals are not eligible for the Silver Medal Rosette Championship.

Highland Pony Society Youngstock Competition 2024 Class H50 is a qualifier for the 2024 Highland Pony Society Youngstock Championships.

Only pure bred registered Highland youngstock (yearlings, 2 and 3yr olds may enter). The qualification is for the highest placed pony not already qualified. Qualification will not pass below second place. Two championships will be held - CSHPC Show at Stathallan Castle on 1 September and England at the Great British In Hand Show at Oakridge Arena on 7th September 2024. The qualifying exhibitor can select which Championship they wish to enter.

Exhibitors are not required to be members of the Highland Pony Society for qualifying classes, but all those competing at the Championships must be members of the Society.

Entry fee to the Championship is free. At the Youngstock Championships, the Champion and Reserves will receive rosettes and prize money of £100 and £50 respectively and all forward at the final will receive £15 and a finalist rosette. A sash and perpetual trophy will be awarded to each of the Champions.

This Show is affiliated to the Shetland Pony Stud Book Society and the Classes are run under their rules.

To compete in this section, ponies must NOT exceed or be expected to exceed 34 inches (86cms) at maturity.

Classes are confined to SPS-BS registered ponies which must be named on entry and which will appear in the catalogue. SPS-BS rosettes will only be given to registered ponies (or to foals eligible for registration).

Three year old fillies with foals at foot may not be shown and all foals must be a minimum of three weeks of age on the day of the Show.

To enter a stallion class, entire males aged four years old and over must have an “S” number and have been successfully through either the SPS-BS stallion assessment prior to 2006 or the current SPS-BS voluntary veterinary examination. Entire males two years old and over must wear a stallion badge.

Children under 14 years of age may not show colts (excluding foals) or entire males. Hard hats must be worn by all handlers aged 14 years or under. Exhibitors should not kneel but remain standing while in the ring.

This Show is affiliated to the Shetland Pony Stud Book Society and the Classes are run under their rules.

Classes are confined to Registered Ponies which must be named on entry and which will appear in the catalogue. SPSBS rosettes will only be given to registered ponies (or eligible for registration, ie foals).

Three year old fillies with foals at foot may not be shown and all foals must be a minimum of three weeks of age on the day of the Show.

To enter a stallion class, entire males aged four years old and over must have an “S” number and have been successfully through either the SPS-BS stallion assessment prior to 2006 or the current SPS-BS voluntary veterinary examination. Entire males two years old and over must wear a stallion badge.

Children under 14 years of age may not show colts (excluding foals) or entire males. Hard hats must be worn by all handlers aged 14 years or under. Exhibitors should not kneel but remain standing while in the ring.

Horse of the Year Show This Show is a Horse of the Year Show The Price Family Supreme In-Hand Championship 2024 Qualifier. See Qualifier page for details. Geldings four years old and over are not eligible to go forward to The Price Family Supreme in-Hand qualifier.

All exhibits must be registered with the British Miniature Horse Society (BMHS). Exhibitors, owners and handlers must be current members of the BMHS and have paid the appropriate BMHS 2024 Showing Levy. All horses must be measured in the current year prior to competing in the qualifier. All competitors are advised to visit www.bmhs.co.uk for a list of measuring venues.

Exhibitors are required by DEFRA to carry with them Official Identity Documents for all horses/ponies when competing or travelling. Competitors are reminded that it is a DEFRA requirement that the Official Identity Documents must be in the name of the legal owner within 30 days of ownership. This must be registered with the breed society, relevant studbook or ID issuing agency, dependant on breed/type of animal. Spot checks may be carried out at qualifying shows and by breed societies.

Horse of the Year Show These classes are qualifiers for Horse of the Year Show, NEC, Birmingham, 9th-13th October 2024 and will attract a £18.00 Horse of the Year Show contribution with each entry.

Qualification will not pass below sixth place. Qualification will be verified by the Horse of the Year Show office.

The qualifying horse will be the highest placed, previously unqualified, exhibit within the Championship of the separate stallion, mare/gelding and youngstock sections. The Championship is only open to the first and second prize winners in the registered mare/gelding, stallion and youngstock sections respectively, and all horses forward in the Championship must be placed as any one of the six could be eligible for HOYS qualification.

Classes will be run in accordance with the general rules set out in the Horse of the Year Show rulebook, a copy of which can be downloaded from www.hoys.co.uk.
