The quilt was a handmade gift, a token of appreciation really, from the members of Gwinnett chapter of Quilts of Valor. The nationwide quilting group makes quilts for military veterans as a way to say “Thank You” to veterans for their service, and to show them that there are people in the community care who about them and appreciate what they did for their

“You could feel the spirit behind the quilt as it was placed on your body,” she said. “It was made with love … I could actually feel being comforted (and) being safe. I wish I’d had it when I was in Desert Storm.” Clements was one of 10 military veterans who were recognized and honored during the ceremony at the church.
