A new residential development with 237 town homes on Buford Highway in unincorporated Duluth got the green light from county commissioners on Tuesday. Commissioners unanimously approved Parkland Communities Inc.’s request to rezone 39.08 acres on the 4300 block of Bu-

ford Highway from single-family residential and general business zonings to town home residential for the Berkeley Township community. The property is surrounded by the automobile business, as well as other commercial properties, a trailer park and residential subdivisions. “We do believe it’s a good transition to go with the town homes,” Mitch Peevy, who filed

the rezoning application for Parkland Communities, told commissioners.
