After very suddenly losing my mum in April 2016, I was inspired to create this book for her in memorial. This project revolves around my home, and the mark that has been left by my mum within these walls. These images portray change, and a personal look into the past and present. We have lived in this house my whole life - my mum, dad and sister moved here not long before I was born. I was brought up here, and the love and care from my mum made me into the person I am today. Our home, filled with memories and her possessions is one of the strongest physical links I have with her and therefore it made sense to make our home the centre point of this project. By exploring and discovering the beauty within the details, I am presenting a glimpse into the person my mum was. Loving, caring, kind and happy. In 19 years a lot can change, yet still things stay the same. My mum once told me that my ‘home’ is wherever she is, and although at the time I did not properly understand, I now know exactly what she meant. Home is our little cottage in Monmouth, Home is Cornwall where she now rests and Home is anywhere when I need her - because I know she is always there.

Remember Remember me when I am gone away, Gone far away into the silent land; When you can no more hold me by the hand, Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay. Remember me when no more day by day You tell me of our future that you plann’d: Only remember me; you understand It will be late to counsel then or pray. Yet if you should forget me for a while And afterwards remember, do not grieve: For if the darkness and corruption leave A vestige of the thoughts that once I had, Better by far you should forget and smile Than that you should remember and be sad.
