To attend the scheduled Junior Leader planning meetings to be held monthly August-April To help plan, organize, and attend the Junior Leader meetings for 2015-2016 To serve as an ambassador across the parish representing 4‐H To attend and be active upon any committees and boards that I might be asked to participate on because of my position as a Junior Leader Officer To respond to e‐mails, letters, and phone calls in a timely manner and maintain a line of contact with the parish 4-H Agent and the Adult Junior Leader Advisors Must maintain an ACCURATE email address and cell phone number for contact purposes To carry out the duties and responsibilities that come with the office that I have been selected to hold To abide by the 4‐H Code of Conduct

Requirements for 4-H Junior Leadership Club Officer Descriptions 2015-2016 All Officers: • Must attend all meetings • Must attend a planning meeting prior to the monthly meeting • Must be in high school (9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grade) • Must be an active, participating member of the Jr. Leader club for at least one year • Must sign a pledge form in April • Must be willing to set an example for other club members • Must attend at least half of all events sponsored by the Jr. Leaders • Attend any mandatory retreats, usually held during the month of July or August • All officers responsible for transportation to activities/meetings President: • Be responsible for each meeting • Be familiar with parliamentary procedure • Set up planning meeting each month • Be knowledgeable of club activities • Be lead ambassador for club • Assist 4-H Agent as needed • Must have held a Jr. Leader officer position the year prior to the election and left that position in good standing Vice President • Plan program for each meeting (Program can be a guest speaker, a community service activity, a game, a leadership lesson, a demonstration, etc. Program can be a combination of two listed above Page 4 of 6

Be available to serve in the president’s absence Be familiar with parliamentary procedure Must have held a Jr. Leader officer position the year prior to the election and left that position in good standing

Secretary • Take minutes at each meeting • Keep track of attendance at each meeting • Responsible for typing agenda each month and delivering it to the 4-H office by 4:30 p.m. the day before the meeting • Responsible for typing order of business for officers each month and delivering it to the 4-H office by 4:30 p.m. the day before the meeting Treasurer • Keep track of balance each month • Report balance at each meeting • Work collaboratively with the fundraising committee Reporter • Must take notes at each meeting • Must get a copy of minutes from secretary after each meeting • Must submit an article once a month, most importantly highlighting community service activities • Must be present and available to take pictures at all events • Submit articles of all events for the media (newspaper, webpage, etc.)

Community Resource Development Officer • Must organize a community service activity each month • Have a yearly calendar of activities planned ready for distribution at the August meeting • Serve as chairman of the community service committee • Get ideas from members Page 5 of 6
