Russian (REUTERS) - Confidential athlete medical data relating to last month's Rio Olympics has been hacked and published by a Russian cyber espionage group with the threat of more to come, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has said. It identified the group as Tsar Team (APT28). also known as Fancy Bear. The website said it had information about a number of U.S. athletes, including tennis sisters Serena and Venus Williams as well as multiple gold medal-winning gymnast Simone Biles. "WADA condemns these ongoing cyber-attacks that are being carried out in an attempt to undermine WADA and the global anti-doping system," said director general Olivier Niggli in a statement that did not name any athletes.

sufficient balls for training or nets for practice. "We are just fed up at the moment. It is crisis after crisis over here," a player said while detailing the cloud of uncertainty hanging over them. Also, players said, since the end of July, when player contracts expired, there has been no indication on when new ones will be issued at either national or domestic level. Nationally-contracted players were given a month's extension on their deals which covered the New Zealand series in July-August, but the situation at domestic level remains unclear after ZC announced it would move from a franchise to a provincial sys-

tem this summer. No fixtures have been released yet. When contacted for a comment, ZC spokesperson Darlington Majonga said: "The players have asked ZC for an update on new contracts and their delayed match fees, but to equate their honest request for an engagement on the important issues to an ultimatum of some sort would be kind of making a mountain out of a molehill. "What is important is that their contracts are ready following an all-inclusive negotiation process that involved representatives of the players. On the other issue, ZC has been paying the match fees in tranches and will settle the outstanding amounts soon."

English counties vote in favour of eight-team T20 tournament ENGLISH cricket has taken a step closer to introducing an eight-team Twenty20 tournament, in the style of the Big Bash and Indian Premier League, following a vote at Lord's. In a statement on Wednesday, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed the proposed event - to run in addition to the existing T20 Blast that features all 18 first-class counties - had been agreed upon in a meeting of county chairmen and chief executives. MCC and the Professional Cricketers' Association (PCA).

Further consultation on the proposal will now take place, before the matter is formally considered by the ECB board next month. ECB chairman Colin Graves said: "We've all been looking at how we can use domestic T20 for an even bigger purpose, especially getting more young people to play. "This format was invented here and is successful worldwide. It can excite newfans. attract the best players and fuel the future of the game, on and off the pitch. Zimbabwe cricketers protest unpaid tees ZIMBABWE'S Harare-based cricketers have refused to train in protest over unpaid match fees, which date back to July last year. The players were due to begin preparations for a series against Pakistan-A, which starts at the end of the month, followed by fixtures against Sri Lanka, but have instead insisted on a meeting with Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) managing director Wilfred Mukondiwa to discuss "their worsening shuation". Several sources told ESPNcricinfo that apart from the outstanding player bill, ZC has also neglected to bring players from outside Harare to the training camp because of a lack of funds, or to ensure there are
