headed by local golfer, Aleem Hussain and Vice-President of the Lusignan Golf Club, Brian Hackett who strived to refresh the sport by involving youths. Delivering brief remarks, Hussain explained how historic the youths’ participation was in this event as

they are the pioneers of the schools’ golf championships. While only three secondary schools participated in the inaugural tournament, Hussain highlighted that many more schools will be recruited in the coming years.

COLOMBO (Reuters) Sri Lanka have dropped batsmen Kusal Mendis and Kaushal Silva from the squad for the threeTest series in India, starting next week, while fitagain all-rounder Angelo Mathews has returned from injury. Former captain Mathews missed the series against Pakistan with a calf strain and will add some experience and solidity to the middle order against India, who blanked Sri Lanka 3-0 in the away series earlier this year. SANTOS Football Club ended Camptown’s winning streak on Sunday last by registering a 2-1 win against the Campbellville based team to move to second in the standings with nine points and a goal difference of plus five. However, 10 minutes later, Jamal Codrington found the equaliser and with five minutes to regulation time, keith Caines sealed the issue for Santos. Camptown remains on nine points after four rounds of competition and has a goal difference of plus two after winning three consecutive matches, scoring six goals and conceding two. Santos on the other hand has won three of their four matches, They lost to lowly rated Flamingo by a 0-1 margin, but scored seven goals while conceding two.
