Herstelling CPG treats senior citizens for Christmas
Chairman Sewnarine Kalicharan of the HCPG and members along with senior citizens who received hampers THE Herstelling Community Policing Group (HCPG), in existence for over two decades, recently held its annual members Christmas social and awards ceremony at the Sumintra Singh Community Centre, Farm, East Bank Demerara. The HCPG also used the occasion to assist fifteen(15) senior citizens, all residents from within the community with food hampers, which
were sponsored by members of the community policing body. This was followed by the presentation of appreciation and recognition certificates to members of the HCPG, members of the business community and ranks of the Guyana Police Force. One particular member, Mr. Jaldeo Sukhdeo, was acknowledged for being the longest-serving member of the HCPG, and was awarded with a certificate; he was
also the recipient of a monetary award, compliments of Mr. Cobeer Persaud, Public Relations Officer of the HCPG. In closing, the chairman, Mr. Sewnarine Kalicharan wished all a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous 2015, and urged all to work harder to fulfil the Group’s cause. He also thanked the general public and business community for their continued support over the years.
GRCS volunteers play Santa on Christmas Eve Day --takes Christmas presents to children at GPHC THE Guyana Red Cross Society (GRCS) last Wednesday visited the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPHC)’s Paediatric Ward and donated toys to patients there. The GPHC would like to extend sincere thanks to the organisation for spreading Christmas cheer with the children during the festive season. The GRCS was established in 1948 as a branch of the British Red Cross, and in 1967 after Guyana gained its independence the name changed from the British Red Cross to the Guyana
