ABOUT

EKIN BOZKURT IS A SOUND DESIGNER, COMPOSER / MULTIMED ISTANBUL, CURRENTLY BASED IN MILAN, WITH A DIVERSE BAC ART, URBANISM AND LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE. BOZKURT UT MEDIA TECHNIQUES TO COMPLEMENT STORYTELLING AND INT CREATIVITY AND FLUIDITY IN PUBLIC SPACES, CITY ELEMENTS COGNITION OF FEELINGS, OBJECTS, AND EVERYDAY EXPRESSIO

SHE HOLDS A MASTER’S DEGREE IN SOUND ART FROM BARCEL WHERE SHE GAINED EXPERIENCE IN SOUND CREATION AND SO DESIGN. HER THESIS PROJECT “SOUND ART MOVEMENT FOR CR A PRACTICAL-LED RESEARCH PROJECT WHICH INVESTIGATES T PROPERTIES OF INDUSTRIAL CHIMNEYS.

SHE REALISED VARIOUS INSTALLATIONS, PERFORMANCES; CO PIECES WITH THE COLLABORATIONS OF THE INSTITIUTIONS SU CONVENT DE SANT AGUSTI IN BARCELONA; CASA DEGLI ARTIS ZONA K (AND WITH COLLABORATION OF RIMINI PROTOKOLL) IN ISTANBUL. SINCE FOR A WHILE, SHE IS BLENDING 3D ART AND RESERCHING THE POTENTIALS AND POSSIBILITIES IN VIRTUAL

“Ses Evi” (House of Sound) is an ongoing immersive performative work that delves into the realm of electro-acoustic exploration. At its core lies a handcrafted soundboard / an unconventional music instrument, assembled from everyday objects and artisanal utensils. Each instrument and object is curated to create a visual installation of tools that are being used to create the cinematic soundscape. Every session is a research of the sonic potentials of additional objects, materials and sound activation techniques

“Ses Evi” is developed during the artist residency program at Casa degli Artisti for the occasion of “Milano Art Week” in 2021.

SUEÑOS

For "Cuentanos Tus Sueños," various objects and a musical instrument were placed in the courtyard of the Centre Civic Convent Sant Agusti in Barcelona. Visitors were given a written prompt: "Tell your dreams by making sounds." However, the event unexpectedly transformed into a sound workshop for children. This work captures the sounds produced by the children, who are frequent visitors to the courtyard. They contribute to shaping the contemporary history and dynamics of the Convent—an open public space for everyone and a playground for “Cuentanos Tus Sueños" is a sound installation created for the "In a Silent Way" collective exhibition featuring students from the Sound Art Master program at Barcelona University in 2018

A PRESENTATION OCCASIONALLY WITH MOVEMENT

Two performer, one of whom improvises with sound and the othe around a loosely structured story. The intention is to find out lan p trigger the imagination and open the possibility of distinct associations. It can be either said that it is a story which appears like a presentation or a presentation which sometimes turns to be a story. The work performed as 2019 of the İstalbul based performing arts collective Salt Beyoğlu

RADIO CHIMNEY

Radio Chimney is a part of the practise-led dissertation “Sound Art Movement For Creative Spaces”, 2018.

The “Radio Chimney”, explores the transformation of Barcelona’s historical industrial vapor chimneys into unconventional sound receptors that actively listen to the city.

By shifting the perspective and purpose of these chimneys, they are transformed into captivating sound installations, offering a unique perspective and attribution to the urban soundscape

A radio receptor is installed in the chimney for listening the sound of the city filtered in the chimney by the “chimney effect”.

Fase Nove (9. Fase) is an audio installation in the form of audio-guided tour.

WING POSSIBILITY [WIP]

Wing possibility is a world-building scenario in which synthetic and physical realities merge or would merge. WIP is created as an indicator of ndless possibilities: body transformation, infinite xistential capacity, a broader sense of ‘Is-ness,’ nd a fresh earthliness.
